The Christian bookshop I work at got our supply in today, and one of those went straight into the CD player for me to listen to while I was unpacking other new stock. Some great new songs on there, plus a couple of more acoustic sounding tracks to please any Third Day fan. Now I shall buy that copy...

Post your thoughts here as you buy the CD and listen to it.

I have always felt that Third Day have not reached their potential. Perhaps this CD will put them into the elite. When I listen to them, I always think that if they just worked on their songs a little longer, they'd be phenomenal.

Do you know if they're using the same producer?

:)

KJ your bookstore wouldn't be, say, Koorong @ Penrith now would it? When do you work there? And how good is Wire? I really hope it's good, I had my reservations when i heard about it... but it's sounding good

Bleechers what are you on about? What was wrong with the last three albums they made? Offerings, Come Together and Offerings 2 are the most amazing albums... 3 of the very best! So many great songs: King of Glory, Thousand Hills, Show me Your Glory, Nothing Compares, God of Wonders, Offering, Creed, Everlasting, You're Everywhere, Your Love O Lord, Get On, I Don't Know, When the Rain Comes, Thief... and of course Consuming Fire... they're not bad i guess...

LW, I don't want to say too much just in case it seems as if I'm promoting my workplace. I was working in the dock area, and it was busy, so I didn't have the chance for an in-depth critique, which I shall do on the weekend.

Bleechers, it's a different producer. I can't remember who it was, but it definitely isn't Monroe Jones.

Bleechers what are you on about?

Oh don't think that I'm not very impressed. In fact, I just think, in listening to their CDs, that their producer let them down. The songs seem sort of incomplete in a way. Trying to do Praise and Worship can do that. Most P&W songs are not complete songs.

As for "Consuming Fire," musically it's fine, but I think the message is misapplied.

Perhaps the new producer will take them to the next level. Maybe they heard what I was hearing... not quite at potential yet.

3d = Third Day Abs...

thanks for the tip MaceWindu... will take that into consideration... I myself love Time, don't actually have their first two but have them all since... Time, Come Together, Offerings 1 and 2 and Carry Me Home EP. I like the Offerings ones best, live worship is simply amazing and i love the spirit those albums capture... the musicianship is probably better from Come Together and Time, granted... but lyrically, especially in terms of worship, Offerings 1 and 2 are in a league of their own.

Their debut album is essential listening, considering my favourite song of theirs is "Love Song" and that's on there. I haven't heard Conspiracy No. 5, but songs from it are on Offerings 1 and I love that album.

LW, sorry if what I said about not saying much about where I work (it is Koorong Penrith) seemed a bit forced. I'll change it so it doesn't look bossy :)

3d = Third day? I can't believe I didnt spot that one!

*Slaps head in disbelief*

Anyway, I lestened to the bit of the album that they put on their website, and I have to say Im none too impressed. I loved offerings and offerings 2, and come together was OK as well, but what Ive heard sounds kinda average, none of this 'taking it to a new level' that they talk about...

Sorry, have I commited a gross heresy by saying this?

Your opinion is welcomed, ab1385. And no heresy from what I see. :)

Yeah the clips really don't do it justice....but before you buy realize it isn't a worship album so the lyrics aren't really worshippy....this is the Third Day from time/conspiracy # 5/ the bus cd.(well the lyrics aren't quite the bus cd)

I would have to disagree there. COnsipracy is a phenominal album... not to mention the Offerings AND I also think that COme Together is great too.

I Picked up the cd yesterday. Ive only listened to it once so far... seems pretty good. The first few tracks at the beginning are really rockin, and I like that.

Im not sure if I am the only one, but does anyone find that this cd, dosent seem to have as much gosple truth as their other ones did? Now mind you I di dnt read the lyrics or anything yet, but just by listening.... I guess compared to Theif and consuming Fire and all those songs....

I donno... I still havent listened to it enough to make a real conceret decision :)
