I have a few years before I have to decide, but I have really been thinking hard about it the last few weeks. So I was just wondering if anybody could give me some words of advice?

"My" Priest suggested I go to Seminary. I wouldn't feel comfortable being responsible for other people's spiritual lives.

Andreas, you sound the most religious teenager I've met; and that is absolutely fantastic! I say do what is in your heart. I think you'd make an awesome priest.

also, have you thought about the monastic life at all, or are your desires set on the Priesthood?

As someone discerning my vocation to the priesthood, I wholeheartedly recommend you find a priest you're comfortable with and talk it over with him. Pray that God will make His will perfectly clear.

Rising_suns, I can't say I have never thought about the Monastic life, but I think the Priesthood may be more my calling.

No, no! Keep away from those piriests, they are BAD news. Make sure you talk to your PRIEST; the last time I spoke to a piriest he told me nothing but nonsense.
Okay, typos aside, you'd make a great priest. If there's someone in this world I wish I was more like, it's you. I've read a tonne of your posts and you have nothing but good things to say, no matter what the situtation and I can only imagine you are like this "in real life" too.
Just when I think I am getting somewhere, something happens that knocks me back down to where I started, but you seem to handle everything so prefect. I wish I was more like you.

I need to try and be more godly, but no matter how hard I try something goes wrong. Nothing serious, just little things that add up. Hopefully when I'm baptised things will be better. Today has just been a bad day.

That way, later on someone can make you bishop

I can sympathize with you, Andreas, since I am wondering about the idea of becoming a nun, myself. It's not really the same (for one thing, YOU would get to be married!), but I wanted you to know you weren't alone in this kind of thing.
I haven't done a lot of research on it, but if I am still considering it after I learn a little more about it, I'll talk to my spiritual father, and perhaps think about staying at a monastery for a little bit just to try it out. I do not like to be left completely alone so I will need to see how much quiet and contemplation I can handle.
Seriously--I think the monastic life could either drive me to the loony bin, or it could be exactly what I've been looking for my whole life.

why set your standards low? I wanted to be a bishop, but I moved up my goal to patriarch . I support your decision but you should get some hands-on experience before you make a lifelong decision.

I was born in New England in the USA. So what? Just because i wasnt born in Greece and I dont know the rich (they have some power) who refer the patriarchs doesnt mean I cant go that far. I want to be married also. I dont know what im gonna do. But maybe some day we can meet up in Greece and do a Divine Liturgy together
