Get a hydraulic ram. There are different styles and application to this that are inexpensive to purchase. Read the specs because the lifting height is only so high. No, the way things work, we won't get rain till October or November. It's just one of those California things. That's why we're such a popular vacation area.
I've been going down to the Fire Station at the bottom of the hill for water. They've got a much more generous well. Also, they can draw from Grass Valley Creek. We can too, except that side of our property has a 150' vertical drop, or cliff. No way to get more than hand tools down there. Anyway, I've been able to keep things alive with the portable tank.In fact, I'm going down there with it in a few minutes. Thank Heavens the Fire Chief is as kind as he is.
Thanks to him, I think the potatoes are going to make it.
Edit:
Praise God from whom all blessing flow...![]()

I woke up at 4am - still awake. Guess I'm up for the day.
It has to do with my sleep apnea, I think. My husband has nights like that. It's frustrating for him, too.
Right now, we're south of London, on the coast, off the Isle of Wight, but we're moving back to our house northeast of London, at the end of August. We have lots of renovating to get wrapped up before then and my parents will be here in October for their 50th anniversary.![]()
