I recieved a Father's day card from my youngest daughter yesterday. It was funny and sweet at the same time.:p Kinda like the sender.;) I don't often hear from my children, so when any of them do something like this, it's doubly special. Of all four, though, my youngest daughter has kept in touch.

Blessings to all the fathers on the board. All you children out there, remember, your parents won't live forever! Seems like it sometimes... but they don't. It's been thirty-seven years since I was last able to say, "Happy Father's day, Dad." Fifteen for Mother's day.

Good to know you're thought of, Stude. :)

My daughter and husband are going to Wimbledon this Sunday to see a movie at the IMAX theatre. She's been asking to see the movie, but I think he's more excited since it's a special day out for the two of them. Of course, I'll enjoy having the afternoon to myself, too. ;)

I know what you mean Stude, I miss Dad too. I wished I could take him fishing with me like we used too.

Happy Fathers day everyone

Just call me klutz! I slipped and fell today at the car wash. I took quite a tumble and wrenched my ankle, back, ribs and neck. Bruised both knees too. I think tomorrow will find me pretty stiff. Glad I didn't hit my head!
Thanks for listening to my woes. :)

Ooh, ouch. Hope you are ok, Seajoy.

We just got home from Tiger's Make a Wish trip. Just before we left, Bear had an accident. He had taken a friend home and was coming home to finish packing when a deer jumped out in front of him. Praise God he wasn't hurt. He could have rolled the car. It didn't do much for hubby's mood, as he spent the first full day of our vacation dealing long distance with the car repair place and the insurance company and at the same time sore feet and unaccustomed heat and humidity.

When we got home last night, my mom told us that our former pastor passed away a couple days ago. He served our congregation for over 20 years, until he retired. He was 90-something and had been a pastor for 60 years.

So glad that Bear is ok. How scary!

This morning, just my ribs and knees are hurting. I'll take it easy for a couple of days and be good as new - I hope. :) Some people who have fibro, have balance problems. I'm one of those folks. I need to be more careful, I guess.

Just found out last night that hubby's sister is getting a divorce. They are ELCA, but never go to church. If any of you think of them, please say a prayer. They have 3 children who are taking this very hard. One is in the hospital for depression right now.

Seajoy, consider that staff we were talking about. A rubber tip would be essential.

Bloomer, glad to hear that Bear wasn't hurt. I hope the boys, you and your husband had a good vacation. Where did you go?

You know, speaking of the ELCA... My friend Paula went to Alaska about two months ago. She got back last week. Whilst she was up communing with the bears and moose, she attended the ELCA church across the street from her daughter's house. Paula also attended the R. C. church that her Son-In-Law belongs to. She wanted to see what the difference between the Lutheran Order of Services were, and how doctrine and theology were handled in the liberal sect. At the R.C. church, Paula was very impressed by the reverence during services and paid to the altar. I had to explain the difference to her again between Real Presence and Transubstantiation. She came out of the experiances with a great appreciation of WELS and really enthusiastic to continue lessons.

I hope everyone sleeps well tonight and wakes refreshed.

God bless!
Ron

Our Synod Convention is going on this week in Mankato. I just spoke to one of our members last night, who was a delegate. Sounds like the next big 'discussion' is about- dun dun duuuuunnnn..... contemporary worship services. Every time one big controversy settles down, something else come up. It's kind of like around here- people are very passionate about their beliefs.

Stude, we went to Orlando, Florida. We stayed at a wonderful resort called Give Kids The World, which is exclusively for kids and their families visiting through wish organizations. We had fun, inspite of the heat and humidity, but too much to do and not enough time to do it.

We're getting settled back into the summer routine. Tiger's taking swimming lessons and would live at the pool if we'd let him. Bear has sworn off gravel roads and is talking about finding friends who are hunters to go after "his" deer this fall. Hubby and I had a date night last night, belatedly celebrating our anniversary. Dinner and a movie, "UP". While we were out, Bear and his new girlfriend babysat and baked a cake for us. Chocolate--yum.
