I'm just checking in and saying hi. Aching knees and all. :sigh:

Having bad knees also, I can sympathize. I like to walk around. If going to the local convenience store would rather walk than start the car. At my last home though, that was out of the question as the driveway played havoc on my knees. Now the driveway is a lovely walk, and too far to do so to the store.

Ah well, hopefully your knees will feel better tomorrow.:)

PS ( try a strong drink of brandy (3-5 shots mixed with Vernors) before you go to bed, this is the only thing that helps me as I can't take anti-biotics anymore)

Yes, and if it doesn't help, you won't care anyway!;):p

LOL, if you want something really exciting come and organize and clean my garage which is in my barn, if yer lucky and work hard you might get done in 3-4 months ;)

Yeah, sounds like George's shop. We've been working on it for over a year-and-a-half. The floor is visible in the main shop and George just got the attic cleared out this weekend. Of course, the wood room along the side is still waist deep in junk and Rover blocks...

Prayers for all who are sick!

Hi RoZ! Welcome to the kitchen!

Likewise!:crossrc: I hope tomorrow is a beautiful day for you Sis. Prayers that the rest of those suffering from discomfort have relief tomorrow as well.

Welcome RoZ!

It's kinda weird that Redding is enjoying spring already. The bulbs are coming up here at the cabin as well. Though there's a vast difference between here and below. Across from the house I'm working at is an old purple saucer Magnolia that's in full bloom. The thing is nothing short of spectacular. Still, we don't normally see this till at least the end of March or April. My allergies have ramped up also. Strange... Spring in February... very strange.:mmh:

What is in the barn Jim? Sounds like a task for superman!

Hi RoZ! Welcome to the kitchen!

The kitchen strawberry is my favorite room in the house. Are you cooking? Count me in.

Morning Studeclunker. It's basically spring here too. Trees have all budded, unusual for this time of year. The magnolia must smell wonderful, I sure do miss magnolia trees.

Morning everyone.

He's announcing tomorrow.

We think we'll be able to move over Easter break. Since Lent is starting, we're gonna have a really hard time packing up our house even in that time, plus I'm working. So far, their DP and circuit pastor and vacancy pastor have been receptive to the idea...it all really depends on the congregation now. If they say they want us in two weeks, I guess we go in two weeks. :o

Morning everyone.

Well, I'll give you the short answer as I'm in from taking a break from working on my car's brakes.

The work shop is one half of my barn. Its where I've worked on cars and trucks and everything else for the last 30 some years. I used to spend a lot of time out there as I had more energy, but with age its less and less and mostly only what I fell necessary. The big problem is I'm a pack rat and never throw anything away, thus its a mess. I have a talent for making things our of junk and I pretty much won't buy materials except nuts and bolts and some lumber to make my projects.

Two years ago I spent over a month making a new yard roller. I posted a picture here but I don't have time to look for it right now. I've also made several utility trailers, some bigg some small. My main trailer has two axles and a load capacity of 10,000 pounds. My smaller one is what I call my yard trailer and has a capacity of around 1000 pounds. I also made one for my son that he uses as his lumber wagon and it has a capacity of about 5000 pounds. Through the years I've made all kinds of stuff. When my kids were small I made them a dune buggy for yard use only. I love making stuff but seem to never have time to clean up my junk, mainly because I hate throwing good materials away (that is materials that most folks would call junk but is my stock for making projects.

Sorry to be so windy ;)

Not to windy at all Jim. Interesting information. Ever thought about selling the utility trailers to the public? I have seen some around town where I live. A company run by a family makes them. I wouldn't mind owning one myself. My step-dad was a mechanic so I understand much better what's in the barn.

Kinda not. Matt really wants Easter Sunday to be his farewell service. Plus, I'll be working pretty much right up until the moving truck is here, so we need some time to pack this big honkin' house. All 3600 square feet of it.

I can see you are feeling many emotions. :) Where in MN? I grew up there.

St Clair, south-something of Mankato. Little town of about 800 people. The church's membership is right around 500. Only other church in the city is a big ole Catholic Church.

Haha! I feel ya, but it's all good. :)

Yeah, you probably understand A LOT of what I'm feeling!! ^_^ And it IS good...it just takes some time getting used to the idea, even though Matt's been considering this call for over a month.

Hee...just send me mittens.

Interesting times ahead, that's for sure. Not really sure Mt Olive will do, but I think they'll partner up with Crown of Life as a dual parish. That way, CoL can stop trying to justify why they have two pastors.

Twenty years ago that was my origional intention. I wanted to make trailers and sell them as you suggested. But it would mean a much bigger barn then I have and lots of expensive equipment such as a fancy welder. But I really have enjoyed making things for myeslf and my family. My fabricating days are about over now though, I'm happy just to have some time to sit and rest and do normal things. :)

 Man, that's a lot of packin'. Maybe selling everything was easier. :D

You'll warm up to it once you realize you need to get on it to be done with it. At least your husband will be there to help. Trust me; being apart makes it that much worse.

I think I've sold the Tahoe and should have it all paid off and title transferred next week. Now, should we get our visas next week, we can be outta here within days with nothing left behind to pay for or worry about.
