LOL, I'll bet you just love St. John's Wort too, Bloomer! We're lucky here that the aridity of the area controls it. There's a patch under one of the Oak trees that won't grow past the dripline. As to Creeping Charlie, it's a potted plant here. One of my favourite house plants. I suppose that over on the coast, by Eureka or Ferndale, that Charlie would be a serious problem. See, getting bone dry for two months isn't that bad after all (LOL)!

Hey, Chickie (sorry LutheranChick I just couldn't help it), try Airborne for the Hubby. Whilst it isn't a cure, the ingredients do seem to help my immune system to fight off that kind of thing. I usually take it morning and afternoon.

It's been raining here for the last few days and the weather service says we'll get it for a few more days. I was really fearing for my gardens. Things had gotten so dry.

Hey thanks Stude! Is Airborne anything like Zicam? or is this something you take all the time. If it helps the immune system it is definitely something I need to get for him. He has crazy hours for work and does not get a lot of sleep, so ends up coming down with everything that goes around. Where do you get Airborne?

I fight Creeping Charlie too. UGH! There's more of it in my yard than grass. Some places that's ALL there is. It loves to go into the flowerbeds where there isn't any competition from grass. I do have to admit it has pretty little purple flowers this time of year, but other than that I sure wish I could get rid of it.

I can see the photo, I'll try it again, CF hadn't liked me today

Wow!

I noted the belly on both the fish and the fisherman are similar. Are they related?

Oops... did I just type that out loud!

Airbourne and it's generic, Airshield, are available at any Pharmacy. Rite-Aid, Longs, even Wally-World have it. There are two varieties that I know of; the regular type and a nighttime version. I don't know what Zicam is, so I couldn't say anything about similarities, or lack thereof. One generally takes Airbourne once a day. I usually take mine in the morning. More often when I'm sick though. It used to be a bit pricy, however, they've come down considerably lately.

It's good stuff. Kinda like the fizzy tablets we used to like as kids.

I've seen Airborne near the Zicam. Zicam helps you get over a cold faster. Airborne is supposed to boost your immune system so you don't get sick in the first place. I have tried Zicam and it works for me. I haven't tried Airborne.

As for creeping charlie, the house plant is very pretty. Sometimes called Swedish Ivy? But the lawn weed is also called henbit or gill-over-the-ground. I don't know what St Johns wort looks like. Like LutheranChick, my lawn is probably half creeping charlie. A cup of borax in a gallon of water can put a little dent in it. It works best if it hasn't rained lately and if it doesn't rain for a couple days after you apply. It makes the grass turn yellow, but it comes back. Unfortunately, the weeds are very invasive. They grow on their little runners and go everywhere. My husband pulled one up once and had 4 or 5 feet of weed before the runner broke.

Some time ago I promised to post some pictures of the handicap bathroom I'm building for a friend when the progress got to a point where it would be something to see. The Lady it was designed around is wheelchair bound. She's also rather large. Hence, the need for a pocket door to provide the maximum possible clearance for her chair. The Bathroom is equipped with both a hand-held shower and overhead waterfall head. The sink's trap is hidden behind the wall so that she won't knock into it. We have yet to install her railings and steadying pole. I ran the tile five feet up the wall as the entire room is the shower. Since wood trim around the door and window would be problematic, I've tiled the entire surface around both. By the by, this is the first time I've ever done tile. The result has been reasonably satisfactory. Here's what it looks like so far:

There's a couple of more shots, if you're interested, at this location:

I'll take the camera tomorrow and take a few more. They'll be posted with the rest in the same location (my photobucket).

Monday my DH went to the Dr to find out what was wrong with him. Dr. called it para-influenza. He said he's been seeing 6-8 cases a day. Apparently it's another flu virus- not swine tho. I can't believe this hasn't made the radar with that many cases. The doc said he had it himself, for 4 WEEKS! He was so disgusted and miserable he spent one weekend drunk. Must be bad for a Dr. to say that. So far I'm ok, but am keeping up with the Vitamin C!
