I saw my first Robin yesterday My yard has a large horseshoe driveway going around it, and in the sping it often floods and makes a nice little pond. This morning being the temps were moderate I saw a few birds gorging on the worms and taking a bath, among them were a pair of Killdeers, really beautiful birds.

Yes, yer quite right, Our Lord suffered enormusly for us, even rejection of His own Father. Thanks be to Him we will all be together one day singing His praises.

Th' Daffy-down-dillys are openin'! I've been waiting on this all winter! I'll take a picture in a day or two when more of them are open. I started taking the hardy plants out of the green house on Wednesday. I have the brocolli and Brussels Sprouts in big twenty-five gallon pots and will be separating them when I get the rest of the garden finished tilling. My tiller threw a tooth on Wednesday. I'll have to get the part to fix that. Ah, well. That's the cost of doing work. It'll be quite a while before the Tomatoes and peppers can come out of the green house though.

You know I don't think I've ever seen a robin. Maybe I have and didn't know it. I think this part of the country is too warm so they don't stand out like they are with everyone in the colder areas. I look forward to seeing a picture. Another week has zipped by, that's just so unbelievable. I love the green around me, but it sure is doing a number on my allergies. Hope everyone is having a teriffic moring.

Really? No robins- I didn't think there was anywhere they weren't! They are as common as weeds around here. I just love them, their song is beautiful. In fact just last night my DH was out on the deck and commented on how loudly they were singing. I had to go out and enjoy them. I'll have to get a snapshot of one for you.

We always had robins raise several families in the same nest, tucked in under the eaves, on top of the pipe where our electricity comes into the house. They re-used the nest every year, hatching multiple batches of baby robins. Last year something tore the nest down. I think it was a squirrel- I don't know what else could have gotten up there. I wonder if the robins will rebuild this year...

When I was in PA there was a momma robin who nested on the inner ledge of the front porch roof. She would sit there even when I was sitting on the front porch. She came two or three years in a row. If the nest was gone she built a new one. The problem, though, was the crows. They discovered the nest there and came to eat the eggs, so no baby robins were ever there.

I sometimes hang a wreath on the house by the front door-which I don't use much. One year I accidentally forgot to take my Christmas wreath down- suddenly one day, in June I think, it dawned on me that I didn't remember having put that wreath away. I went out the front door and sure nuff, there it still was hanging there! But, now it had a robin's nest built in it, with robin eggs, so then I had to leave it a little longer! I sure wondered what the neighbors thought that year.

That's funny about the wreath LC. I get upset with those who leave their lights up past January 1st-
Fortunate for you I'm not a neighbor or I would have knocked on your door asking, hey do you mind taking that down.
Now everyone knows the truth about me.

I didn't know crows ate egss, but then I guess that would make sense. They are pretty big.

I know once I see the robin, I'll say oh yeah, I've seen them before.
