snip... It's supposed to be nearly a hundred today. My poor Delphiniums.
100? Delphiniums? Gee. And here I am hoping it's finally warm enough to set out the tomatoes and peppers. It's been so cold and rainy here that I didn't even try to buy plants till last night, and they were all picked over so I didn't have many choices. Oh well... guess it could be worse.

I am worried about rabbits this year. We have some that spend a LOT of time in the yard- first time for that. I know there's always some around but I think neighborhood cats usually keep them away from the garden. This year the rabbits seem quite brave. Either they have learned martial arts to fight back, or we are out of cats.... :D

Did someone say 100 degrees? Wow that is warm. Like LC, we are just now warming up. Could actually wear short sleeves the last two days. Tuesday we were having to wear jackets.

LC, I wonder if the rabbits are hanging around due to the fact that the farmers are late in planting the crops. They are trying to find something to eat and the yards are the only places with anything green right now. Just a thought.

We had 70 degree weather today I think.

I'm in such a great mood. We just got back from watching a tumbling and trampoline championship competition! It was amazing...too bad we only got to watch an hour's worth! My daughter is so enthused now about her gymnastics class and wants to get better with her own tumbling!

Yeah, it was just a few weeks ago I couldn't put the tomatoes out here either. The first week of May came in with warm weather and the nights still at or below freezing. Now it's almost TOO hot. No rain either. Scary because we're on a spring here. I hope to heaven George gets work soon, because we're going to need his well. I have a feeling the spring will dry up for the first time in recent memory. The weather service says that the temps will go down next week though...

Our problem here isn't rabbits but squirrels. They'll eat anything. Funny though, they leave the peppers, tomatoes (plants anyway) and potatoes alone. Could it be because they're related to Beladonna? Aw... such a cute little squirrel... c'mon little squirrel, eat your tomatoe plant. Eat your tomatoe plant and DIE! Ahem... did I say that?:o:swoon: Heh, heh, heh...:ebil:

Good morning everyone!

Yeah, I'm bright 'n cheery today despite still being a bit sick and having been up since 7 am. *G*

So I'm sitting here drinking my
TinyTea.gif
and wondering what kind of trouble I can get into today.
evitplot.gif

Actually, I won't be getting into trouble. Mike and I are going out to look at mattresses, I need to get stamps for my invites and to look at flowers for the day. Then I'll be going to Church to celebrate our congregation's 50th Anniversary. We're having a service and a dinner today and then a special service tomorrow.

After Church tomorrow, I have to go over to the parent's to print out my
marriage-smiley.gif
invitations (my printer is eating the vellum.) and get them all addressed and stamped ready for the mail on Monday.

What's everyone else doing this weekend? Seajoy, I sure hope you got some

Have a wonderful day y'all!

Can't sleep..............................................

I couldn't sleep either last night. I told hubby this morning when he woke up I was going to do surgery on him and take his adnoids out to see if it would make him quit snoring

Kae, I may be really forgetful, but don't you have a wedding coming soon?

No wonder you are bright and cheery!

What about the cpac (severe sleep-apnea) or breath-rite strips? My son does much better with cpac, and I have been snoring less using the breath-rite strips.

Worth a try.

Yep, Filo...just about a month to go! June 28th will FINALLY see me as a bride. I made up joke invitations for my Mom and Dad. They say:

It's about Dang Time.
Kim and Mike are getting it done
You're invited to watch if you want!
June 28th, 2008 @ 2:30pm
Church parking lot
Somewhere in Milford
Just look for the signs of Hell freezing over.

I figured it was apropos. :D

Seajoy,
I was up at that time too! Those of us who don't sleep ought to really get IM (I have it) so we can have late night chats.

I have IM! I have Yahoo, AIM and Google.

So, the Golden Jubilee was EXCELLENT tonight. We had so much fun and there was TONS of jokes being told. The 2 former Pastors (who are both still in the Church Militant) spoke and talked about the times they had while in the Pulpit. (one was there for 25 years. He was the Pastor when my family started going there. We moved from an ALC church because things were getting so weird...:D) Then 3 of the Sons of the Congregation spoke. I teared up for the last one. He was in my very first VBS class over 20 years ago. I'm so very proud of him. Then our current Pastor spoke and we had our Quartet, One Accord, sing. A lovely lovely time. Many Lutheran beverages were passed around.

We figured that the caterers weren't Lutheran 'cause there wasn't a single jello salad to be found in all the buffet offerings. I have a lovely memory book, an ornament and a commemorative plate from the day. I can't wait for the next 50 years. I'll be 88 then and, God willing, I'll still be at St Mark's. That is, if I don't get to go HOME first.

Our son and family will be in town for the weekend; we will see them Friday night and Sunday night. But I still have the vacancy to preach this Sunday, then I install the pastor the following Sunday!! No more 600 mile weekend trips, which I have been making since the last Sunday in December (putting on 18,000 miles on the car between that and National Church traveling, plus 6,000 miles of flights).

Oh yeah, 'tis my birthday Sunday. :)
