My son and daughter in law bought me one of those grind and brew coffee makers so we've been testing some different kinds of beans
I grind and brew usually at the store or the coffeehouse. I did have a separate grinder, but I've always found that the personal grinders always leave some beans either totally unground or half ground and that just irks me. In order for me to grind all the beans equally, the finished product is always more finely ground than I would like it. I've thought about investing in a commercial grade grinder.

That's okay if they come back..we can have a discussion about faiths; that would be interesting..Especially if my dad was there. My my, Mormon elders verses a Lutheran Deacon and his son; what would the outcome be?
Shouts of heresy all over, most likely! LOL You should set up a few stakes in the backyard with some wood near the bottom. One for each Mormon. Then take them out to the patio for the discussion. If they ask what the stakes are for, tell them they're there just in case this discussion goes as expected. LOL

Actually, I had a chance to talk with some JW's that came to my house a few weeks ago. They were telling me that I needed to read my Bible everyday and believe in Christ. I love it when people like that stop by, cuz I always hit them with the question: "why?" And they said and I quote: "To be happy." LOL I said, but how does that erase my sin problem? They were like a deer in headlights. Then we got to the end times and I destroyed them there too. They asked me, "What denomination are you." I told them and they thanked me for my time and left. LOL

I buy the beans and then grind them at the store if I can. My concern is the ongoing possibility of plastic containers and heating emissions that leach bisphenol-A from polycarbonates or possibly carcinogens. In other words I will make my ongoing search into totally metal coffee makers. If there is such a thing. Paranoid? Well better safe than sorry.

Man Rad...my coffee is just done brewing in my all plastic coffee maker. Should I drink it or not?
Maybe Rad has a point. Didn't we used to cook in aluminum pots and pans too? And now we find that THAT wasn't such a good idea. LOL

Seajoy, send me some of that chicken soup! I spent the weekend sick in bed and I could use some. And I'll have a couple of Studeclunker's snickerdoodles for dessert. Now all I need is a big glass of milk to go with them.

We don't ever seem to get any Mormons around here. We have Jehovahs Witnesses, though.
Well that's because the JW's found out that the Mormons taste like chicken. LOL

Well, I'm hitting the road for the sunshine state, although I don't know how much sunshine will be there over the next 7 days. I should be able to get a round or two of golf in.
It's one of the benefits of being in a non-geographic district with churches in Florida. Once in a while the conferences are held there. We always make sure it's the January conference, too. :D

Hey guys, I need advice...

I've been thinking of offering art lessons to kids ages 9-17 in my area (private and semi-private) within my home. I'm stuck on what to charge though as I'd like to offer both an hourly charge and half hour charge. Supplies will be included and it depends on what the student desires to learn about to consider how much that cost will be. The reason I'm including supplies is so that I know that everything will be ready for each lesson.

Anyway, if you were going to send your child to private lessons, or semi-private with a friend, what would you seriously pay?

I'm not sure what the average rate is to charge.

I'm ready for summer, someone sent me some snow.

Here's what I got yesterday

I hadn't named them yet, forgot to ask the lady that I got them from if they named them.
If they are male and female be careful. They have LOTS of babies. And the babies somehow get through the wire and out of the cage.

The one lying down watching TV is the male. The one standing and washing the windows is the female. It's easy to tell one from the other. :)
