CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thanks, I like yours better. These newer churches out west just don't have the character or craftsmanship and attention to detail that the older ones do.Nice.

Yes, standing. When the church was built, I think the cogregation may have been all senior citizens.

If yous would want to, you could kneel on the floor. Might hurt a bit but that could be a good reminder of how much Jesus suffered for our sake!!!!!!!

Ha. But no, if I kneeled it would just draw attention to myself. Nobody kneels and nobody crosses themselves either ( I do both at home) . I'm not going to do something just because I can, if I think it is going to offend someone.

"Yous" is used quite often in Northeast PA and NJ. I kinda chuckle each time I hear it here.
But I use "y'all" more than "yous guys".

The one I never heard until I moved to the Maryland/DC area was you'uns. It's an Appalachian use, and the folks I know who grew up in western Maryland, or in West Virginia, are most likely to use it.

I think the Anglosaxons may have had a word for 'you plural' in old English, but lost it sometime after the Dane-law period. So "y'all" and "yous" is all we have.

Oh, I forgot to mention, while I was in seminary I learned that "y'all" is singular in Texas. The plural is "all y'all". I actually heard it in use whilst I was there.
