If anyone feels moved to do so, I'm in serious need of some prayer. My lower back is a continuing problem. Up till a few years ago, I would visit a Chiropractor on a regular basis, a few times a year, for adjustments. When I lost my job, that ended. Now things are even worse, and the back is acting up again. My appointment with the GP isn't for another twenty days (I was lucky to get it that soon) and I really need to do something about this. Just sitting here typing this is painful.

This couldn't have come at a worse time.

prayers... anyone?

About the shaking front end; are you sure you don't just have a bent rim? All it takes is one of the legendary pot-holes in Eastern expressways.;) Or, it could be a bad tyre.

We go to the 8am service...but I'm not sure if my hubby will go since he has to drive 12 hours tomorrow but I will with my brother.

You'll love the chanting :)

- On the shaking at 75...my hubby said it could be due to improper weights on the rim.

Yeah, or a weight that just came off. They do, you know.;)

Might be best to take the car to the tire shop first.

Yeah, we have the same problem here in the northern PSSRC (see my location). The businesses are all open from nine or ten in the morning to five pm. Most aren't even open on the weekends, except the chain stores. It's like they aren't interested in doing business with anyone who actually has a job. Then again, I ran into that sometimes in So. PSSRC too. For now, you might consider slowing down a bit, staying right and doing your best not to be run over.

Heavenly Father, we come to your throne of grace because of your Son, Jesus Christ. For his sake, look with favor upon our friend, Stude. Grant healing to his body and relief for the pain. Give him patience and strength in the midst of this trial. Sustain in every circumstance, Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen

That was a nice prayer, filo. Something I've always liked about this forum. We pray for each other.
As I said in another thread - my back went out today also. Hazardous kitchen cleaning. I don't really need this right now. The anti-inflammatories are not cutting it for my back or my foot.

It is indeed nice to have a workout partner. One that you can trust. It just enhances the whole process so much, takes it to a whole new level.

Well Sis, what can I say? I'll pray for you and criss-cross you pray for me (LOL), deal?:) We can share the same set of crutches today.;)

Actually in my case, the naproxin was just the ticket. Wish I could afford two pills, but I'd run out too fast. Gotta call the Dr.'s office and see if they can squeeze me in earlier. The frustrating part is that I was trying to get this doctor to address the issue a month ago. They just won't go any faster on things without an emergency sometimes. I'd rather take care of it before then... ya know?:sigh:

I don't envy you Aibrean. Having had to close five different lives, the worst part is the cleanup. Especially if they were a pack-rat, as was my Mother. She had a four foot attic in the top of her townehouse and it was stuffed from the joists to the rafters with just... crap. Ninety percent of it went straight into the dumpster. I filled four large dumpsters from just her attic. Got to where I would pull a box and dump it into a garbage bag, looking at what poured in. If it looked like crafts stuff or just papers, it went out. If not, then I looked at it a bit closer. Thank God she didn't have mice or rats! They would have had a field day. Seeing that nightmare explained why her house used to sway so badly in Earthquakes. She must have literally had two tons of crap up there. The complex management was furious with me. The closets and every storage nook or cranny were just as bad.

Good for you. A solid, dependable car is critical.

I know that with as many miles as I drive, I can’t afford to keep taking the car to the repair bin. In 46 years of driving, I have never had a car leave me stranded; but I have been hit by others in two accidents (1971 with eight car pileup and 2002, which totaled the car).

Safe driving for you!

Quite a pack-rate Stude. They kept every single card ever sent to them I think (there were piles in boxes). I will say, I'm glad she kept obituaries and funeral notices. It really helps with building the family tree.

Well, I bought a new car. The dealer was able to give me a rate comparable to that of my bank, which when they added in the $1000 military discount, it turned out to be cheaper overall.

Hopefully this car will treat me well...

Well, tell us all about it! Make, model, stuff.....

A couple of years ago, I had saved up $5,000 and did a lot of research and finally went to a Honda dealership to test drive the car - a type of Civic. I LOVED it and they had one all optioned out. I did the _____ over the price, they gave me a quote for my 99 Toyota Camry, and I got a quote for a monthy payment. I'm ABSOLUTELY SURE the salesman thought he had a deal, although I never so indicated - I was just following his lead. At the end, I told him I needed to "sleep on this" and pray about it. At first, he was all "this deal is for NOW" and seemed pretty ticked off, but the manager interrupted and said the deal was good for 24 hours and if I felt I needed that, he totally understood and respected that. Anyway, I just didn't feel at peace with it. I just kept thinking back that there was nothing wrong with my OLD car except that it wasn't very much like a car a young single guy like me should have. Anyway, I called back and said I was passing. Well, I now have nearly $20,000 saved up, nearly enough to pay cash if I get a good deal. But now I'm thinking, maybe I should just keep going and think down payment on a condo or house.... I don't know. For now, I'm saving money and my old Toyota just keeps going. I've NEVER done ANYTHING to it. New tires, oil changes - that's it. It's never been to a mechanic. It's needed ANY work. It runs perfectly. The a/c works, the CD player works - even all the power stuff works perfectly. I keep it washed and waxed - it looks as good as the day it was new (which I remember, my parents bought it new in 1999 when I would have been 11, giving it to me when my 1990 Buick Surfmobile was stollen).
