JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!!!!

Forgive me if I seem a bit excited.

Better back up a bit here. Last November, 17 yo (now18) young man from out of state held up not one but two convenience stores for money and cigarettes. These two murders happened in two counties.

This young man has shown absolutely no remorse. The trial for one was held last week and in less than an hour, he was found guilty of first degree murder and first degree robbery. This morning, he was sentenced for that murder. Since that guilty verdict, he filed for a new plea hearing where he changed his plea from not guilty on both charges in the second one to guilty.

This young man knew what he was doing, yet he is also a very sick person. While one of the judges called him a "cold blooded murderer" today, he sat there and smiled almost to the point of laughing.

We are so thankful that this young man will be going away for a very long time (life with no chance of parole). On the other hand, I pray for this young man that he may come to learn what he did is wrong. That he gets the help that he needs.

I just had to share. While those in the country were watching the Anthony case from Florida, those from my little corner of the world were watching this local case.

Oh you are in Iowa. . . I went later onto the Iowa Hawkeye forum that I particpate in and they where talking about this and linked a article to it. I thought it sounded awefully familiar with what you are saying.

Anyways, the stupid grin of his would have gotten him the needle in Indiana. He would have enjoyed our Michigan City death chamber.

** Indiana is the only state to my knowledge which actually has two death chambers. One is the State death chamber in Michigan City, IN where we go to church (Not at the death chamber but in Michigan City) The other is the federal death chamber in Terra Haute.**

If anyone else in interested.

My dad usually does my repairs, but in this case it requires a mechanic because you have to drop the engine to get to the parts. Normally I would just ignore it and run it into the ground, but I'm going to be doing a lot of driving and don't want to take the risk of breaking down in the middle of nowhere. I've done enough repairs on it recently that its coming to more than the car itself is worth. Luther - I'm going for a new one because I honestly don't know enough about cars to evaluate if a used one is in good shape - and at this point I'm tired of dealing with repairs and want something that will last me for a while.

2001 Ford Taurus
The brakes are also bad and it doesn't like going at high speeds...
I've started the process of getting approval from my bank for a car loan just in case.

I have a '99 Mercury Sable which is pretty much a carbon copy of the Taurus.

The brakes are bad? Could it be that you need to replace your brake shoes?

Doesn't like going at high speeds? What do you mean by this? Does it make a noise or is it difficult to accelerate it beyond a certian speed?

Is it just me, or are the vast majority of these works of art (Cranach's excepted) just really not that good?

Framed Prints: Concordia Publishing House's Art Gallery

I thought they where good art, but outside of Cranach it seemed like a lot of them had a more modern feel to them and I think we're used to and prefer a more classic look to a religious painting.

You know what I mean?

I by the way am no art expert.

Personally I'd like to see a painting of the last supper that portrays it somewhat accuratly instead of having them all sitting at a western style table.

This is probably one of the best I've seen of the Last Supper.

Most of the paintings they have there at CPH seem to be illustrations from Bible story books. They are quite adequate for that purpose, but don't really meet the level of art that I would like to see hanging on my wall - at three hundred bucks a pop no less.

If I had the money, I wouldn't mind having that Cranach painting of the crucifixion - "the painting that preaches Christ".

I agree that is the best painting of the last supper I've seen thus far.

The brake shoes have been replaced fairly reecently and I've bled them.

It starts shaking around 75 mph.

My former Jeep Cherokee did that. I believe the problem was found to be in the steering column somewhere. Of course on that truck, the causes of problems were found in the oddest of places. ^_^

Our daughter, when in high school, said her very old car shook every time she went over 50mph. She then got a ticket for going 85mph on a 65mph road. We figured her old car couldn't be shaking that badly.

Yes, I am in Iowa. I live in one of the counties where one of the women was murdered. In fact, that is the station where I purchase most of my gas. Iowa does not have the death penalty, but I think that would be too good for him.

Looks like I may not be able to get a new car anyway...before my bank will approve a loan, they need copies of my last two pay stubs, which are at home. I've locked myself out of my online account by forgetting my password, and the automatic password retrieval system will only send me a new one by mail, which isn't going to help. I'll try calling the helpdesk on Monday, and hopefully they'll be able to sort me out...

But it's looking like I'll just have to get Aibrean's men to try and fix my old one.
