I get the biggest kick out of George's dogs. Tasha was sitting by the cold fireplace and crying that she's cold. When I asked, "Oh, what already??" She ran over nudged me with her nose and did the same to the fireplace. Then did it a second time as if to say, "the fire's out and I'm cold," then sat by the fireplace looking pitiful. So, I've got to light a fire for the dogs. Are they spoiled or what (LOL)?^_^

Awwwww.......that is a sweet story.

Goofy dogs. You know they have their own room? Beds and all. When George (big macho man George) left, he said that they were to have his room, and so they do. He's so funny about 'his girls.' They're as spoiled as any old lady's little poodle. They just have to look tough and macho in the process, LOL!;):p

Well, I hope I can get some decent sleep tonight. I am use to getting my best sleep laying on my left side. Thing is, that side is where my worst bruises are. Going to be a while before they go away.

But, I still say, don't leave home without your seatbelts and airbags.

I'm working on my personal statement for my residency applications, which is basically one page about me as a person and why I would be a good candidate.
GCC has already torn the first draft apart, but I'm still stuck on writing a catchy opening...blegh. I hate these things.

That's like our little dog with the woodburning stove! She wonders why the stove just doesn't come on immediately when she's cold!

Ahhh, college. Sure glad I'm past all that with my kids. On to the next step - grandbabies! ^_^

:o Grandbabies!!!! No way are we ready for that. Our little monkey still hasn't deemed any boy worth of dating, so I think we're safe.....for a while.

We have noticed that the young men in the Sixth Form she'll be attending next year are more than a little bit above those in her high school in both maturity, intelligence and respect, so I think our days of being boyfriend free are numbered. There will be a fair number of American students at the London vet school (assuming she gets accepted), so if she doesn't meet Mr Right in the next two years, it probably won't be long after.

May 26, 2012. Got the church and reception hall booked, and we've started premarital counseling. I've given him the task of contacting caterers, since he's in DC for a couple weeks, but that's not really happening. Men...:p

He might surprise you, Mel. We planned ours from different countries and hubs did his part with relatively little nudging. They just prioritize differently, which can be maddening! Oh, well. Vive la différence.

Glad you're OK, Quilty. I can only imagine how frightening the rollover must have been. I certainly hope they've given you some decent painkillers.

My sympathies with the sleep thing, Quilty. I do hope that you can get back to normal, or some kind of normal, soon. All the best with the recovery.

Well, today is haircut day for the bad boys. All I have to do is snooker them into the trailer, which is going to take some doing. I've got the camera in the truck so that I don't forget it this time.

Yet another Churchless Sunday...:sigh::( These gas prices are just killing me.:(

stude, no church for me either this morning - my allergies, yesterday and today, have absolutely driven me BONKERS - sneezing, stuffed up, nose running, eyes watering, and now a sore throat on top of it.....woke up this morning like i did yesterday morning - sneezed probably 12, 14 times in a row.....didn't want to go to church and end up having a massive sneezing fit, so i stayed home.

however - i do know where you can listen to an excellent sermon on line!!

You kids forget I can't do video.:(:sigh: Audio files aren't too very obnoxious to download. An hour long video would take nearly twenty-four hours to download as five minutes takes three hours. Do either of those services come in just Audio?

Quilty, will Zyrtec work for you? It does for me. Makes me drowsy, but it works. I'm out, but the air filtration system is cranked up all the way. So it's okay till I go outside. You might consider one of those for yours too. They don't have to be fancy, mine's just a cheepie free-standing unit and it does George's house nicely (about 1200 sq ft). There's the side benefit that it really cuts down on the dust in the house too. George's house is really bad with dust normally. Not with the system going though. I'm sure it'll cost me in filters though. Always the tradeoff you know.;)

Stude, believe it or not, cayenne pepper helps me. I make my own capsules and take several a day. I take them to alleviate joint pain, but it seems to have other benefits, as well.

My daughter and I have both had a cold virus lately and although I was dragging a bit, I haven't suffered from the congestion and sinus issues that she has. I encourage her to take it, but she seems determined to suffer.

Believe it or not it's good for the intestinal tract.

Sounds like a great idea Porter. Where do I get the capsules? The pepper I can find. The caps...

I get my gelatin capsules from an ebay seller near us and you should also be able to buy bulk amounts of cayenne online. It can be expensive otherwise. Try ebay for that, as well. If not, look at Amazon.

Just remember that most sellers on Amazon charge a lot less for their products if you buy from their direct website instead. Just search for their storefront name and you'll usually find them. The difference in price can be staggering. :)

On another note, the NBA finals are being shown here in 3D. Woohooo! I hope it impresses. Our neighbors seems to think that the soccer matches they've seen in 3D were disappointing.

One thing we did see last week that was quite impressive was a History Channel documentary showing all the 3D footage and photos taken by the Nazis. They truly set the benchmark for media propaganda, unfortunately. Even in black and white, the ability to recognize more faces and details is amazing.
Has anyone else seen it?

It's not bronchitis or pneumonia, is it? ugh. The art teacher where I sub at the high school had a lingering cough after a cold that had gone into pneumonia. She had to take off work...but...I got called in to sub for her.
I listened to my lungs and they sound okay. ;)
It feels like it's more in my throat, anyway.
