Ugh, pharm. I hated that class, but it was very useful.

I really liked my pharm class.

I had my first clinical today. My preceptor wrote on my evaluation sheet that I was the best student she has had so far. :) That was quite a confidence boost.

Please see my "random thoughts..." thread in the general forum of TCL.

I have enjoyed my time here. Many of you are very dear friends. I leave the kitchen to Stude who has always poured a better cup of tea than me anyway.

God's richest blessings to all of you. Fight the good fight. :groupray:

Um... well that was sudden Sis. Don't be a complete stranger. After all it is your kitchen regardless. Guess I'd best get to work then...

Jonathan, whilst I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment, the kitchen is not the place for that kind of thing, thanks.

It's quiet in here :(

Well, last night on CF I was posting in the Christian Advice and as you all may remember Decision Theology is one of my biggest pet peeves...and oops there it is again, that decision theology. I forced myself to just leave the computer for the night hoping I wouldn't want to slap someone ;) Got up this morning and wow, I still shake my head at the insistence of others who turn "accepting" into salvation instead of receiving. People just love to be a part of their own salvation and pat themselves on the back!

ARGH.

Love the sanctuary of the kitchen here though :)

lambie - that's why i don't venture out of TCL - i have a hard enough time keeping my mouth shut in HERE, if i ventured out i would have been banned 10X over already.....

Take it from someone who's been banned at least 3x, you've really gotta break some rules to get banned or just criticize a mod or how CF is run or stand up for what you believe in. But there's still a disciplinary process that you have to be run through before they'll typically ban you.

Staff Action Process is as follows:

1st incident: CPM - 0 points

2nd incident: warning - 0 points
3rd incident: warning - 0 points
4th incident: infraction - 1st point
5th incident: infraction - 2nd point + one month's suspension
6th incident: infraction - 3rd point + permanent ban

*As a member's staff actions expire, the escalation begins again.

To explain further:

* if a member has two active warnings, or an active infraction, he will receive an infraction. Otherwise, he receives a warning.
* if a member has one active infraction, the 2nd infraction they receive always results in a one month ban.
* if a member gets 3 infraction points they will be permanently banned.

Special Bans

Eban:
An Eban is a site-wide ban of a member with fewer than 100 posts who is spamming or trolling the board.

Cool-down ban:
Staff may issue cool-down bans at any time, with a duration of 24-48 hours. Cool-down bans require the approval of a Supervisor or an Administrator.

Admin Ban:
There will also be occasions when Admins can apply bans because of other unacceptable behavior.

The final verses of this Sunday's Second Lesson was I Tim. 6:20-21, "Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith."

Not much has changed in two thousand years, has it? All this bragging modern man makes about their enlightened and educated mind, and they're sill swayed by the same deceptions used so very long ago. Why is it we never learn?

Pastor's message was based on I Cor. 2:6-13 which touches on much of what Paul had said to Timothy toward the end of his first letter to him.

How very powerful are the wealth and knowledge of this world. It's sad how so very often we are distracted by the siren-song of this world's concerns and demands. It is truely amazing that the Lord is able to punch through all this noise and distraction to save even one soul. Praise be to God for his mercy and grace.

Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me!

Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come.
His grace has brought me safe so far,
His grace will see me home.
Amen:crossrc:

Porter, is it as bad over there as the papers are saying? I know they have a way of blowing things way out of proportion. For instance, the headline is, "Brittan Burns, Riots Spread Through United Kingdom!" Sometimes I wonder about AP...

Yeah, I know what it's like having inspiration for a story like that, Aibrean. One night I had a very detailed dream about a story and sat down upon waking to type it up. Took me eighteen hours working at it to complete the story. Trouble is, half way through, I was beginning to forget details. Ah well, likely no one else will ever read it anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Talking butterflys huh? That's what you get for eating spicy food and Ice Cream before bed.:p^_^ Reminds me of that Compass-something-or-other story a few years ago.

Yes, it was pretty bad in certain areas, one of them the terminus of our tain line into London where we catch the tube when in a hurry. I try to avoid it most times, but we've not needed to go into the city since the trouble broke out, thank God.
Of course, now there are race and immigration arguments and debates going on, but thanks to all the CCTV cameras in Britain, many of the looters and especially those who mugged or hurt others have been arrested. Some judges are coming down pretty hard on them and if they were receiving beneifts, they no longer are. Some of their families are even being told they have to leave their gov't paid housing if the offenders live there.
There were some offshoot riots in Brimingham, but that was it all I know about. Three young men were killed by a hit and run looters. Sad what people will do to get their hands on what they can't afford. Those responsible have all been arrested.

London is like any big city, though. There's always someone protesting or making use of the rent a mob. It's part of life here. What is interesting is the response of the immigrant population in the areas who were in no way involved in the chaos. They have oragnized their own clean up and community improvement movements to keep this from happening again. Those who abide by the laws and appreciate being here want to make sure the thug-minded know they won't tolerate it. That's been a positive of it. :)

Using the free Christian Forums iPad app they just released....pretty slick.

Is it good? Is there a honeycomb app? Hubby bought me a tablet, but I'm warming to it slowly as my laptop limps along on its way out.

CF has an app?

Well, my 4 week break is finished already! Back to classes tomorrow. This semester I have Intro to Medical/Surgical and clinical and also Women's Health and clinical. Each semester brings new things and new challenges. Can't wait to start clinical in September, yet am nervous too. I did get the hospital I wanted.

Yeah, there's an app for this too. If you type CF in the search bar of the App store, it should take you right to it. It's free and is rated three stars for the iPhone version. I don't know what the rating is for the iPad because I don't have one of those.
