My brother was having severe chest pains. He was in a plane sitting on the runway in Pittsburgh and they had to taxi back to the terminal to let him off, He went to the hospital to be checked for heart trouble. They discovered that he had severe acid reflux. It was so bad it literally burned the muscle at the base of the esophagus. Medication eventually corrected the problem.

Could be acid reflux or a hiatel hernia. Best to check for sure though.

two more finals tommorow. then i can finally have time to rest and focus on other things like going to the gym and reading the bible more.

I finished my finals Tuesday. Am still waiting for one grade, but I pretty much know it already. All in all, a good semester.

The reason they are doing a scope is because the meds aren't working (I've been on Prevacid).

Good for you, QA! My daughter has her last mock evaluation exam today and then she can relax until next term. I know she's really looking forward to Christmas back in the US. Hopefully, the snow won't keep us grounded!


Aibrean, have you been diagnosed with GERD? My sister had similar problems as you've described and that was the diagnosis. I'm not sure what she takes for it, but she has been much better. I hope they get you on the right meds soon.

No I haven't but the meds I'm on now is exactly what my husband was on and he has GERD. That's why they are doing the scope because I'm not responding to meds.

There are a number of different meds for GERD. Some work for me and others don't. Like I said, it is a good thing that they are doing the scope to see if they pinpoint the problem better. If they do decide it is GERD, ask about other meds for it.

I can now say what is going to be very special about my weekend. My son has been deployed since 12-26=09 for 12 months. The welcome home ceremony is at 6:30 this evening and then we get to hang out with him all weekend!
