Ohio, Dayton area. We were home at around 2pm.

I love visiting wineries when traveling. If we see a sign we will just stop off and head for tastings (and massive purchasing lol).

This was actually our first tasting for both of us.

I came to like wine a long time ago when I realized I didn't like beer. (I know thats blasphamy to many Lutherans.) Most of my family drinks beer so I went my own way in terms of alcoholic beverages and just started trying different wines. But I never went out and did a tasting.

My wife on the other hand never really much liked wine because she ended up drinking whatever someone else was drinking instead of trying her own and comming to her own conclusions. So she gained a new apprechiation for wines. We picked up a bottle we both liked.

We plan on going back to the area and among other things we want to do, we want to visit some of the other wineries.

I'm actually kind of surprised, apparently the competition between the wineries isn't too heavy because the people there told us about other wineries in the area we should try. I can't imagine at my work recommending a direct competitor to a client. . .

I don't like beer either (even though I had one over the weekend). It's something with the hops and bubbles. I do like hard cider (you should try Woodchuck - it's great).

I wish I could afford to drink more wine. Unfortunately, cheap wine costs as much as good beer, so I'd rather have the good beer.

Lutheran services are great. I don't know if its just because I have a great pastor or what? but comparing them to the Catholic services is like comparing night and day. I remember I could leave a Catholic service and not remember anything the priest said. Either that or its me getting older and more mature because I listen more now...

I really wish I could have attended on Sunday, but alas I was out of town for a Sunday wedding. Some of the family couldn't attend because of that (my cousin's husband is a pastor so they couldn't and my other aunt taught Sunday school and she couldn't but she made it to the reception).

I did speck out a LCMS liturgical congregation for next time I should visit.

Makes me glad I am a Lutheran too. BUT, in that thread, we don't know what all the sister told the poster. He did say that he had been talking with her for a long time and he had asked her questions and she explained using the Bible. We don't know what all she said as he doesn't say. The part of the questions was when he was ready to "decide" to believe. It was the last in a long series of discussions. That being said, decision theology is based on a lot of feelings and that is what I have complaints about.

And I interpreted it much differently. He is not going to get the big picture that is Lutheran because they are not Lutheran. I say to message him and dialog with him more.

You should see some of the threads I saw in the singles forum back when I was in there.

So many went like this.

"Got saved 7 years ago. . . I've never been baptized. . . should I be baptized?"

And the answers where worse... they where like

"Yeah don't worry about it, just get baptized whenever you want." or "Get baptized when it feels right."

And of course they would completly dismiss me when I would put forth the logic of "Show me one time in the bible anyone took their time to be baptized?"

Their response to the question was to totally avoid it and go "Well the theif on the cross didn't get baptized."

Sigh. . .

To which your reply should be "Of course not. Christian baptism wasn't instituted until after the Resurrection of Christ. Read Matthew 28 and then read Romans 6."
