I know that as Christians, we aren't supposed to be materialists. However, that's also yet another reason I'm glad to be Lutheran.

Because I am in LOVE baby!!

LOL, I saw a Studebaker Park Phaeton on ebay night before last that is just... the cat's whiskers!;):p The only drawback is that I may have to sell my Stationwagon to get it. So... that's not likely to happen.:sigh: Yet, I can droo... I mean, dream, can't I?

Yeah, two horse power would be more like it. Something like this:
phae2.jpg

Same vehicle, just an extension top in lieu of the standing (Surrey) top.
Sometimes these would have a small dickey seat behind the passenger seat. That way, one could take a servant along to keep an eye on the carriage whilst one was enjoying themselves at the Opera and etc... Often though, this area behind the passenger seat was just used as a luggage rack.

All the same, I don't really believe that the miracle will occur that the carriage will come into my possesion. Besides, then I'd have to get a pair of horses.:D;) Scary thought that...:D

my head is too full of, well, lots of things - and one person....i have to get up in 3 1/2 hours - please, God, let sleep come!!

I was up at that time too. Sasha (very elusive...she hides in the bedroom so we don't know she's there) jumped on the bed, howled, jumped off and then plopped her butt next to me and looked innocent.

I'd say something sarcastic about cats... However, Nana used to do something similar. She would run laps around the room. Usually including a pass or two under the bed (tall tester-bed), until I'd given in and fed her. She loved that bed. Lots of room underneath for the Sheepdog-den.;) When I went to work for Greyhound, I had to check under the bed to make sure she wasn't hiding. She got closed into my bedroom several times for a few days because of hiding under there.

I got a chihuahua that used to hide under our waterbed because of the heat it would put off. Got rid of the water bed and she doesn't do it anymore. Got a Boston Terrier puppy now too, she got a gas and snoring problem,

We celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary last night at Red Lobster :)

My hubby has never had lobster before but he wanted a steak so he got a steak on top of mashed potatoes topped with buttered lobster meat and shrimp and asparagus. I had lobster rolls with mashed potatoes. We both had a salad (I had caesar and he had a garden one).

Talk about YUM :)

Congrats on the anniversary.

My MIL is in the hosipital, she has a kidney infection and dehydrated, my niece's husband had a heart attack and had three stints put in, he's not that old. Have a friend from high school that I just got in touch with in the last year or two, she's been battling cancer, its come back now and shes in the hospital real sick.

That's nice, Stude. It wouldn't fit down mny of our country roads, but in some parts of this country you could make a living giving rides to Romany (gypsy) brides. :p

Actually, why do you think so many of your country roads in England are so bloody narrow? It'll fit, quite well as a matter of fact.;) In fact, the British Driving Society has driving meets with very similar vehicles on a regular basis. Fun stuff that.:) One of the reasons British folks favoured two-wheeled vehicles was the wheel tax. I don't quite know the mechanics of the law. Fact is it boiled down to taxing each wheel of a vehicle. Hence, to avoid extra taxes, the people favoured two-wheeled vehicles.;)

Gypsy Vanners huh?^_^ Actually, it would be a popular type of vehicle for weddings around here.
