It's an introduction to the denomination, the synod, and the church. You have to take the class to become a member but you don't need to be a member after taking the class. It's a personal decision. My husband and brother didn't because they weren't ready but at the new church we attend now they didn't have to take it because they already had at the other church (still LCMS).

Most Pastors will not make it mandatory to become a member after taking the class. Yet, most who do take the class do become members.

Also, some Pastors will do the new member class on an individual basis depending on schedules. Some don't but some do.

oh no! are you snowed in?? that's just awful - i'm so sorry!!

we've been pretty lucky in the snow department - not a whole lot of it so far this winter (thank God)....and the temps the last couple days have been very mild. i think the weather channel is calling for snow today or tomorrow, but with the temps, it won't last long....

i sure hope you can dig out!! sheesh!

Yeah, Michigan gets a lot of snow, as does upstate New York, so my other friends tell me. I do wish we'd get a bit more here in Trinity. If it doesn't snow, there'll be no water this summer and I don't want to deal with another looong fire season. Weather report for the next ten days is clear skys and temps in the fifties. Not good.

I WANT MY SHARE OF THE SNOW, DARN IT! You easterners gotta stop hogging it all up! Snow me in PLEASE! However, the pattern looks like that of a few years ago when we got very little snow or rain. Not good.

it's funny, discussing snow (i don't know why this amuses me, it just does...) - when we first moved here (to colorado - i live on the western slope, not the front range) we were told "oh, the winters aren't that bad - usually it'll snow, and within a few days, the snow melts"....our first winter here, we had to listen to everybody and their brother comment "wow, this is the WORST winter we've had in FOREVER!!!"; the snow was just horrendous!!! the temps were awful, the snow was awful, and i thought - "wow, where in the world have we moved to???"

every winter after that has been the EXACT SAME WAY......except THIS one. this winter, it's actually doing exactly what we were told initially.....snows, melts within a few days.

goofy goofy weather....LOLOL

and just an observation: lots and lots of traffic here today.....i wonder why?

We are supposed to get 4-5 inches tomorrow. My hubby is FINALLY getting his truck back from the shop (we actually had it off insurance for a while because no one had the part...my dad found a shop that worked on trucks and we took it there and it was a different problem altogether) so he's super happy he can use his 4WD.

I just got back from my job orientation for Big Y the grocery store. I made my availability so I get sunday mornings off, so now I can attend church every sunday! With my old job I could only go every other weekend.
