Yesterday was the nicest day we've had in more than a week with lots of sunshine and no wind. As soon as the sun went down, though, it got cold! By the time we got home from a long day shopping, it was well below freezing and today we've had constant rain and very chilly wind. brrrr

I suppose this means winter may be as bad or worse than last year, but I'm rather surprised it's been so bad so early. I sure am glad we're all set to spend Christmas in Texas. :)

So...God is good. I rarely ever pick at my teeth when eating but on Saturday my hubby was playing paintball and I ate alone and was doing that watching TV....so anyway, I found a chipped area on the side of my 12-yr molar (top one). So I went to the dentist this morning and it was decalfcification that broke down and luckily I caught it in enough time for them to fix (before a cavity formed). So they filled it and I'm all good AND insurance covered it (not sure how). YAY.

Of course, my jaw hurts where they stuck me with novicane.

Driving this morning was kinda bad and then I had to drive to New Ulm to deliver something to Jake's high school and driving there was a bear. Oddly enough, I prefer to drive our van when it's windy versus our Alero. Of couse, I hate the Alero period so perhaps it's not so odd.

We haven't lost power or anything, not even a blip. I've read some areas have tornado warnings and whatnot, and I guess a Walmart sign blew over somewhere near Racine WI.

I saw that MI was also under a high wind warning. The gusts there are supposed to be about 10mph higher than what we're getting. We're averaging sustained winds at about 40mph with gusts up to 50mph.

Fun.

I miss vacationing in CO but I don't miss the mass of people there. Getting too crowded.

where i live, there isn't a mass of people - lots and lots of wide open spaces....the town i live in only has about 8000 in it (this, coming from a city that had over 70,000 in california, and that was considered "small" by california standards...) - we did just get a new stop light, which is a little unsettling, LOL.....

There is a town over by Keystone resort that is called Montezuma. When we first started going there it was a ghost town. Nobody lived there except the post office lady. She had apost office for the men up in the valleys around there. One was a sheep ranch and another was the saw mill. Since they built the Keystone Ski Resort people have come up to Montezuma and bought property around there and renovated all the old buildings there and built new housing under strict "period" rules. Somebody rerouted the stream there that ran by the cabin upstream and it wound up going through the cabin. Haven't stayed there since. Guess the cabin is gone now.

We had high winds today and a tornado warning. I didn't hear where it was but the warning was in Adrian where I was at the time. Tommorows winds are supposed to be worse.

We used to have vans too. We had a 74 Chevy full sized van. We all loved it cause the engine made so much noise :D and sounded powerful.

THe next van was an 82 GMC, a real piece of junk. I bought it primarily for my wife to haul the kids around in and our vacations and family doings, but the thing developed a problem not long after we had it. The carb kept backfiring and and the engine would stall almost every time you tried to take off. You had to have an extra saftey distance when taking off from light or you would get broadsided. I ended up driving it cause it was so unafe, and I always drove with the seatblet off and my hand on the door handle so I could bale out if it started on fire.

When I took it into the dealer, which is where it spent most of its time, the mechanic took the carb apart and said you've had this on fire, which surprised me not a bit. After another year and many attempts to get it fixed we got rid of it.

The next van was a Chevy Astro van. My wife loved it but I hated it. It was a gas hog and reaquired lots of maintenance and was so hard to work on. We finally got rid of it when it went through 8-10 quarts of oil to every fill up on gas. Of course my wife wanted another van but I said no way.

Well this conversation could go on all night as I had a bunch of truely junk cars/trucks. We finally both bought Hondas and end of problem. We got rid of my Honda when I lost my job, it was pretty full of miles anyway. We now have a Ford truck and really love it, but its had a lot of electrical problems too :sorry:
