I am glad that the Packers won!!

PW, was in Alexandria. There are four of us Pastor Wives who get together twice a year for our "girl's weekend." We have known each other for about 10 years and really get along. It is kind of our own little retreat.

It has been a while since I have been to Mankato. Whenever I head that way again, I shall let you know.

Thanks, Quilty.
I love my all-gals weekend. My friends and I do that every spring.
Hubby and I are going on a weekend away to Frankenmuth, MI in Nov. Anybody been there?

I've never even heard of it and my mom's whole family lived there when I was a child and I still have an aunt and uncle that do live there.

I LOVE Frankenmuth! You HAVE to go to Zehnder's. Best food ever. I love Bronner's as well.

I believe that St. Lorenz LCMS church is the oldest and largest Lutheran Church. I may be incorrect about the oldest, but iirc, it's the largest. Gorgeous too.

This surprises me. I don't know why...but it does.

St. John in Ellisville, MO is the largest LCMS congregation. They have over 6000 baptized members.

Don't think the WELS has a church that big. It would be like a quarter of us were in the same church! ^_^ (well, maybe a little less than that).

When I was a child we would split the Christmas holiday or Thanksgiving holiday between the two sets of grandparents. My mom's lived in Minnesota near St. Paul/Minneapolis and my dad's parents lived in Iowa. So I'd only see them once a year, sometimes more but usually once a year and since the trip was to spend time with the family, I didn't see really any other parts of Minnesota that I can recall now some 30 years later.
