They took out rope arrows, and the AI sucks,bBoth the PC and the Xbox version feel like ports because they Ion Storm decided they should develop both versions at the same time, these are things you should know right off the bat.

It was a good game, but those things pretty much ruined it for me. Thanks alot Ion Storm, for ruining another one of my favorites.

Overall, the game is pretty good. I actually enjoyed not having any rope arrows or a sword. But I agree about the dual-release. The Thief title was originally built for the PC and it should have stayed on the PC. One of the greatest things with the levels in Thief (besides the architecture) was that it would take you hours to explore a single level. But it had a storyline, the same atmosphere that helped make Thief what it was, the same voice actors, and guard humor. Despite some of the faults, I still rank Deadly Shadows as one of the best games released this year. It is also the only game that kept my interest the entire time I was playing it. (three weeks to beat it, playing a few hours a night) I have long since quit D3 (to repetative and predictable), traded Pandora Tommorow and had to force myself to complete Far Cry.

But definitely pick up the first two Thief titles. The graphics are pretty dated, but they still rank as my all time favorite games.

I have played the X-box version and thought it was kinda average. It certainly isn't as good as Splinter Cell 1/2.

That was because the devs insisted on releasing it as a dual-platform title. Had they left it a PC only game, the game would have been 10x's better. But IMHO, the Theif series by far beats Splinter Cell. Mainly because SC has to be a third person perspective, something I strongly despise.

It was there choice, they could have done the PC version first, then ported it to the Xbox. I would have much prefered that, chances are both version would have been better.

Koko did you play Pandora Tomorrow Online? It makes the single player campaign obsolete. ;)

Yes, and to be honest, I spent more time searching for an active game to join. The few times I did get to play were nothing special. More like movie theater popcorn... tastes good, but not very "filling."
