Deuteronomy 26:12-13 God did not command tithe for the church.

Numbers 18:26-28 The Levit must also give 1/10 of the tithe to the priest so the priest (kohanim) only received 1/100 why the church demanded 1/10 ?

The poor widow of Jerusalem did not tithe, it was voluntary donation from people who had no farm /agriculture business, tithe was never money.

Numbers 35 : Moses has built 48 cities with Storehouses for the Levit to receive tithe of crop and cattle, the storehouses in Malachy 3:10 was not a bank to receive money :

Deuteronomy 14:22-29 explains additional tithe for own consumption at Sukkot pilgrimage to Jerusalem. And another 3 years tithe for widows, orphans, and sojourners making total 23,3% but the tithe for Sukkot festival is not given to anybody but to buy food and build Sukkot for own consumption.

Who are the Prosperity Gospel Preachers?
This type of thing was started long ago who started it Swaggart or Graham or Baker or do it go back further.
Far too many churches have become a business. The preaching more of prosperity is only one of the failures of many of the church's in these last days.

I did actually get the tax form for the first time this year, because while the church had to be closed because of covid, I had to mail in checks. Which I wasn't happy about.

No, the church should teach giving. And that is not what a lot of prosperity preachers are about. They cleverly persuade Christians to give to them, not to the Lord. I'm not against Christians being well off. Some of them give a lot of money and work hard in the gospel. Others are like leeches, sponging off God's people and peddling the gospel for a profit. God will deal with them on that day.

Tithes are always money. That is what "ten percent of your income" means. It was not money originally.

The spirit/intention behind the tithe is the equivalent to money today. One of the forms of the tithe was to provide for those who did God's work so they could focus their ministry. Food and shelter were obviously essential for survival, so they brought wheat and other food and provided shelter as a tithe. Today food and shelter are obtained through money, it accomplishes the same goal. Jesus spent a lot of time trying to teach about looking at the "spirit" of the law, opposed to the "letter" of the law... the religious folks didn't like that much... and that's still the case today, even on this thread.

You wrote that backward. Jesus said, "Do not let the left hand know what the right hand is doing."

God knows how much money you are giving Him and is grateful for every cent.
