• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why is it hard to just blurt the random hurt and depressing feelings to the people In our lives-- the ones who are there to help.

The most sucky part of feeling this is it comes unexpectedly. hate fake smiles. I hate giving a fake smile and wished and prayed it was a sincere and happy smile. Plain sucks (perhaps more Than I'm expressing here)

Pretending isn't working well.
Ranting. Sharing. Help?. I don't know. Prayers I guess. Ugh.

I know what you mean sweetie - so often we hide behind a mask and don't let anyone know what we're really feeling.
It's hard to let the feelings out, but if you can find someone who you trust it helps to be able to take off the mask and let the 'real you ' out.
Praying that you find someone who you feel saf to talk to that way.

It definitely is hard. I like to keep my emotions in myself, as well. I'm beginning to get better -- so I am an example that there is hope for anyone and everyone! :)

Praying for you to find someone that you can open up to.

Thank you so much, Criada!
Finding that neutral perspective can be a challenge. The old me used to open up way too fast and sort of handed out my heart to the wrong hands.

I have the same struggle. I will be praying for you.

I once saw a guy ask a minister for prayer because of depression. The minister simply said something like "Spirit of Depression I bind you in the name of Jesus Christ." The demon inside the man starting speaking immediately with all the people around watching on. The demon came out and the man and his wife hugged each other and the man's face changed to be smiling and hopeful etc. I say this because since then I have seen that minister cast out many spirits of anxiety, fear, depression, suicide, addiction etc. I suggest you read his book called Addictions Spiritual Roots in amazon. It will change your life and bring freedom if you do what the book says. He shows people how to do what he does to bring freedom from afflictions and addictions caused by the enemy. It's the most powerful and practical Christian book I have ever read.

Hi. I try to put on a smile to people because I don't want to bring them down with my frown. But really there is nothing wrong with me being myself and frowning. I've just been conditioned that way. I'm sorry you're having a rough time of it. It takes time to trust again and let it out.
