What proof do you have that Page got into aleister crowley only after the first 3 albums, and wasn't involved before?

I picked up the recent remaster of LZ III a week or so ago. It's a good sounding remaster, and the bonus disc has some interesting outtakes as well. I'm looking forward to the Houses and Graffiti remasters as well.

One of the truly great groups! However if you're a fan don't see "The Lead Zeppelin Experience" with Jason Bonham the original drummers son. The music is alright but the vocals are a pale shadow of Robert Plant.

Sam, i agree with you! Page was/is into Aleister Crowley bigtime! Music is sorta spiritual. Long before i found Christ, i still knew this band was negative. Any satanic type music i run from! Marilyn manson, slayer, coven, black sabbath! When Jesus says you must lose your life to save it. I gave up things i loved, but it is worth it!
I know this thread is filled w zep fans. I didnt read it all, but i cannot preach.to ppl. I just suggest that every Christian be careful what you read, watch and listen to.

1-One of my friends from church believes it's okay to listen to Led Zeppelin, because even though Page was into the occult, it's okay to listen to their music as long as you don't condone his lifestyle, because not all of Led Zeppelin's songs sing about the occult, and you can separate an artist from their bad lifestyle. How would you respond to him? I think he has some good points, but I can't decide if he's right or wrong. It's a huge gray area.

If I didn't listen to anyone whose personal opinions didn't agree with mine, chances are that all I'd have on my iPod is gurbani (Sikh worship music). Someone's personal opinions neither take away from the fact they have some talent or skill, nor does it rob whatever they produce of any of its value.
To cite an example, one of my favourite bands is Rush. All three members are openly admitted atheists, and are known to drink alcohol, smoke, and have in the past taken drugs, which are all against Sikhi. Do I not listen to them because of this? No, because I accept they are individuals with the freewill to make decisions of their own.

Listen to what the Holy Spirit says. If he says don't listen to LZ than don't but if you don't have a guilty conscious(which is the Holy Spirit telling you it's wrong)listening to them or it doesn't interfere with your walk with God than I don't see the harm.

Was playing the "bonus" disc to the recent remaster of the first album on the way to work this morning. It's a really excellent concert they performed while touring between the first two albums. The sound quality isn't stellar, but the performance is really something. Recommended, especially if you don't already have the first album on CD. The remaster of the actual album is pretty good as well.

I think "Out Door" divides a lot of Zep fans. Many don't like it because it is so keyboard driven. Personally, I like the keyboards (I play keys myself) so that doesn't bother me. While not my favorite Zep album, I think it's pretty good - a mediocre Zep album is better than most bands' great albums. Considering the problems they were going through at the time it was made, Page's drug addictions, Plant still reeling from his son's death, it's no small wonder John Paul Jones was able to cobble the album together. While Jones' keyboards may be a bit heavy in places, I think they actually hold the album together in this case.
