this is about making yourself an emergency mental health first-aid kit. if you like art, you can decorate a box, or like me, i bought a special back pack.
(1.) special emergency contents. list medical safety plans; phone numbers to crisis center and phy unit. church, friends, parents and med info. basically a list of crisis helps. you can include online sites and friends too... but on the phone or inperson is much better.
(2.) personal soothing list. from prayers, and bubble baths to your favorite movies and books. the list serves to remind us of what kind of things we love to do. sometimes when triggered, it's hard to focus and think; so having a list of things comes in quite handy. ( I.E. like candle lit bubble baths are awesome... just turn the music on and melt into the bubbles... watching the sky, walking in the rain etc...
....)
(3.) contents. markers, paper, special pictures, stuffed animals, bible, some candy, sketch book, and a journal. (i even had a bottle of bubble stuff, for blowing bubbles).
keep your kit in the place that you use to keep things to hurt yourself.
you can even make more than one kit. like one for travel, and the other at home.
anyone here do scrappbooking? post your ideas!
