Working on your story? Trying to pick back up on that scene? Need a break? Why? How's it going? Do tell!

I'm working on rewriting my prologue, and I'm almost done. I ws so excited to finish my first draft, and now I just want to dive back into the heat of the action. I'm feeling mildly impatient with all this introductory stuff. But it's necessary, and I refuse to skip it because I know it's important. Instead, I took a break to make this thread.

What was it about? I was writing tonight, and it went okay. It's a story I'm crazy about, but I kept getting distracted...

It was kind of an allegory/reworking of Sleeping Beauty....sort of. Kind of hard to explain, which is probably why it didn't go anywhere..... I have another idea for a story, and I'm hoping that one will go somewhere....

Ugh! That's the worst part of writing. I'm going through the same thing, only it's because I've found that I can't write books anymore, and have reverted to turning my unfinished (almost unstarted!) book into a screenplay. Those are a lot easier for me, because I don't usually think in words (except for dialogue), but in images, and as a future director, images are key.

I hate rewriting.

Hey....Doubtless....would you mind too terribly much if I took my own spin on the "reworking of Lion King" story? 'Cuz I really liked that story and want to take it in some different directions....but I wanted to ask your permission first, because you were the one who originally came up with the basic idea. (And I might not publish it....)

Yay! I think the main thing I'll change will be the setting (modern-ish instead of ancient).....and maybe a few plot details, too. Thanks, though! I'll let you know how it turns out!

I have been hit with something, whether it's writer's block or a lost muse.

I cannot, for the life of me, get down to starting my story. The plot is stale, and whatever conflict I can think of, is not even worthy of a SciFi Original Movie.

OOhhh.....yowch. I've had that problem before....the plot I came up with once was barely worthy of an LOTR fanfic.

LOL, we used to say it was as bad as Star Trek fan fic.

I have a number of unfinished stories in my files. I tend to just move on. If I come back and finish it later that's good, if I come back later and take out the parts I like, change the characters and make a new story from that, it's usually even better.

But there's still lots of unfinished stories in my files.

I can't believe I'll be 18....wow.....

Funny, but when I was a kid, I never thought I'd make it this far. I never pictured myself as an adult. And now I'll be one in six days.....

Yeah... not good. I keep finding myself wanting to stray in some cheese ball plot involving robotic sentries in place of Police officers ala-Cylons from Battlestar, to a lame love story, ending in a dystopic civil war mixed with an uncontrolled time travel gate.

Well, ok. I like dystopic civil war aspect of part of the setting and time travel aspect.. Just can't work out details for a conflict.

It's a book that has actually been on and off in my mind for the past 10-years. I only recently started putting more serious thought into it this past year.
