He also has that cool song (technically a tone poem) about him...
For sure. It's among the most famous 2 minutes of music ever written. With thanks to Stanley Kubrick.

Good pub quiz question: What is the link between the spiritual founder of Zoroastrianism and the quote 'Open the pod doors, HAL'.

Edit. Ah, jayem has given the game away...

The idea of a trinitarian God is anathema.
Christian theology about God has changed over time, but the Bible still supports monotheism and Unitarianism from cover to cover. Here's maybe the best example of what Jesus believed about God and himself.

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Our brains are bigger than they need to be that’s why we needed to invent gods to deal with the things that we could imagine but not explain.
Hardly anything more vain and arrogant than
to believe you know things because " god"
provided the infallible knowledge.

Isn’t this the exact basis for “revelation”?

People think that "fake news" is a recent phenomenon, but actually it's been around a long, long time, you'll find it in myths, legends, and most lamentably... in religion. It seems as if once one 'believes' the truth no longer matters.
Ah ha, a smidgeon of truth, a little light ..... so maybe some hope ?

haha good, great, hopeful ! Babies/ infants/ little children, the uneducated are granted revelation of salvation and of everything concerning salvation according to the Creator's Word and Jesus;
the educated , scholars, politic and religic? leaders are left in the dark..... unless God Grants them grace.

What feels right isn't really the correct way to come to God, but rather coming to God in Spirit and truth is the correct way. There is a truth and God is actually expecting us to seek it and know it.
Good testimony I believe.
Glad you don't go along with the false gospel teachers.

Trust daily and completely in Jesus and follow Him wherever He goes.
I agree with that, but perhaps for different reasons. Christ is the head of the church, but the head of Christ is God. No one, not even Jesus, is above God.

Where’d that [gif]popcorn[/gif] go?

I was wondering what this thread is *really* about, so I checked the OP and it just a clip from some dead televangelist. Sigh. I guess I just watch what ever this is until it gets shut down.

When these get going I sit back and think, “wow, look at them go at it”, over tiny, trivial, details that don’t ultimately matter.
It’s a good feeling to know that one is “right”, and is apparently addictive, to boot!

No.
I expect the vast majority don't even
believe they got any revelation and are
simply fakes.

In the event, I wasn't referring to
"Revelation" but rather to those who
claim their chosen reading of the Bible
is true, that the accuracy is vouchsafed unto
them by no less an authority than God Almighty
himself, effectively making their opinions infallible.

That's kinda arrogant, is it not?

Presenting as knowing more than those of
any other religion, or those of any other view
in the same religion, is that not arrogant?

Claiming- as is universal among creationists-
to know more than any researcher involves arrogance
vanity and of course self deception of remarkable
proportions.

I'm little surprised you missed seeing the vanity
in that and thought I was
referring to "revelation', a phenomenon I don't even
acceept as real.

You may have never noticed that it's not
always so easy to understand what is a tiny
detail, and what will prove to be of huge significance.

Exactly. That's key to control by dictators
of any stripe. Treat people like mushrooms.

Are we to take it that “arrogance” is “bad”?

I will cop to being arrogant, FWIW, but only insofar as I believe that if a belief (or system of belief) skews one’s point-of-view away from dealing with us lesser-beings in a loving, kind and tolerant manner then that belief (or belief system) can safely be put away.
