..and as par, this is all opinion based but in the last year I believe I have a much better picture of a deeper purpose or explanation of salvation.
Most Christians base all of salvation in the form of a creed that fits on a card and is kept in their pocket (and sometimes an hour on sunday morning) But slowly over time I am seeing a bigger picture and here it is in a nutshell:
There are two kingdoms we are all surrounded and affected by only we don't notice.
1. The kingdom of Light. This is what surrounds the creator in heaven and His attributes are the fruits of the spirit.
2. Kingdom of darkness. This kingdom is vast and is the dominant force on this earth and in our world. It is headed by Satan and is present in every aspect of this world. Even inside church doors and the minds of people. It controls the media and politics.
I sense that the crux of the meaning of life is for each of us to solidify our allegiance to either one kingdom or the other. Those who sense both good and evil and willfully choose to walk in righteousness are attracted to the very essence of Christ who somehow takes them and constantly improves them towards perfection.
Maybe its even simpler than the sinners prayer? Thoughts?
