A few weeks ago, someone gave me some prophetic words and told that she saw me going into the evangelism and healing ministries. I was sort of expecting the latter, but the first surprised me a lot. I'm extremely reserved and keep to myself. I don't think that I have the temperament for that at all. And I struggle so much with my own frustration with God that I couldn't possibly see myself in this role.

Is there a specific temperament that you've noticed among missionaries/evangels?

Thanks.

yes a temperament of love and obedience toward the Lord .
If you read your bible you will see that the great commission as laid out in Mat 28:19-20 is a command not a request.
It always amazes me how many excuses those claiming that Jesus is (Lord )or master and calling themselves disciples can come up with to not do the work of disciples.
Did anyone show you Christ or tell you about him, or someone you know maybe?
Good thing that person wasn't busy trying to decide if they had time enough to do it or if there speaking skills were good enough or if they could do it without looking foolish etc. etc.
On the same note good thing Jesus didn't just say you know I love you Father but you must have the wrong guy here because I cant do this!.

:sigh: It's no excuse. People have different personalities, strengths and weaknesses.

Hey, you brought up a really good question... I consider myself very missions minded and evangelistic because serving Jesus in that way is a passion of my heart. As I have been growing in my relationship with the Lord through the years God seems to be changing my character through different seasons. Some years people would say that I am extremely extraverted and those were the years that my main focus was reaching out to the lost world for Jesus. Some years people would say that I was mainly introverted and those were the years, or months, that I was mainly checking my own heart and seeking hard after the Lord. These were the seasons that my main focus was on my relationship with Jesus. Now of course, both are necessary all the time, but there are seasons of our life when our main focus is just on seeking God and not so much on the lostness of the world. Anyway, it is OK to be different and we don't have to make ourselves all emotional about it to feel that we are evangelical or not. God bless you for your comment and I really hope you are just comfortable to grow in your relationship with Jesus and be the kind of person God wants you to be.

Caramel, re: " It's no excuse. People have different personalities, strengths and weaknesses."

I totally agree so do the lost isn't that amazing! do you think possibly that is an asset then? Yes I for instance have different experiences in my life than you but that just means that the Lord can use me to share on a personal level with some that you may not be able to reach as effectively by your testimony. The message however is the same one. Jesus Christ the Lord. I hope and pray we are not sharing a different message there no matter how we differ for if we are then one of us is sharing another Jesus.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
