Sounds like free will was the problem with God's original plan...

What are the chances He's going to make the same mistake twice?
(Well, three times, if you count Lucifer...)
Well I'm not a theologian but I think the idea is that God didn't want robot like creatures who were forced to serve him so he gave them free will so they could make the choice themselves. I don't think he did this by mistake it was just the way things had to be.

Lucifer... Eden... Babel... The Flood...

How's that been working out so far?

Had to be? This is exactly -- down to the last detail -- how God wanted it... His will be done.

What makes that public unwilling in the first place?

A desire for truth, and experience discerning it from pseudotheological gobbledygook.

Well that's where you need a theologian and different ones will tell you different things but as I understand it there is God's perfect will then there is God's permissive will. And yes we have been making a mess of things since the beginning.

God's been right there in the mess with us... and His efforts to fix it have been pretty slapdash so far.

2,000 years ago, He sent Jesus -- how do we know He got it right this time?

How would you know what is right or wrong in the first place?

For example, in this list, what's right and what's wrong:
  1. changing genders
  2. homosexual lifestyle
  3. tithing
  4. smoking

Not necessarily... it's been 2,000 years; we're due for another attempt.

If at first you don't succeed...

Insofar as God's record for "fixing" creation is concerned, He's on a losing streak.

For example, in this list, what's right and what's wrong:
  1. changing genders
  2. homosexual lifestyle
  3. tithing
  4. smoking

#4 is just plain disgusting and unhealthy; but they're all matters of personal preference.

If you're about to disagree, let me thank you in advance for the QED -- God's still on a losing streak.

You know why you think that?

It's because you deny prophecy on principle.

If you didn't, you'd realize that, of the 333 prophecies, Jesus fulfilled 109 of them.

He's coming back soon to fulfill the other 224.

And I guarantee you: it's not going to be a picnic.

It seems that we can't come to a consensus on that.

Let's see if we can come to a consensus on this:

If Jesus Christ were to return tomorrow in all His Glory:

Christians would be ecstatic, praising him and cheering for him to smite the wicked once and for all and establish the millennial reign...

... but, if instead he came back incognito:

...and preached the same messages he preached 2,000 years ago (but again, incognito), He'd be dismissed as a "woke" liberal, derided as a radical BLM/AntiFa troublemaker, and run out of town on a rail... by those very same Christians.

Or am I mistaken?

His academics get in the way.

What amazes me is that he's [supposed to be] a professor of literature.

I wonder what he teaches his class.

You know why you think that?

Because I think it's true.

It's because you deny prophecy on principle.

No, because I deny prophecy based on its 99.999% failure rate.

If you didn't, you'd realize that, of the 333 prophecies, Jesus fulfilled 109 of them.

So... even with his believers -- who had the prophecies righ in front of them and were desperate to shoehorn him into them -- writing the narrative, he's barely batting .300

He's coming back soon to fulfill the other 224.

Sure he is... and you'll be there to remind him which ones he has to do, right?

And I guarantee you: it's not going to be a picnic.

And what is your guarantee worth, AV?
