Jn 14:26 was to the disciples saying that the holy spirit will come to them and allow then to write the gospels, it has nothing to do with guidance on how to read the gospels.

If you want to use John I could take this out of context too and reference it to bible study

Jn 14:23

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Love comes from the heart and is the abode of God therefore the spirit that guides man makes revelation in the heart of man. Bible study with heart and spirit. Guidance without revelation is meaningless.

You are obviously not getting the point here. I did not start this thread to argue.

So, have a nice day.

I wholeheartedly agree

Serapion once gave his cloak to a poor man and as he walked on and met another who was shivering, he gave that one his tunic, and then sat down naked, holding the holy Gospel, and on being asked, "Who has taken your clothes, father?" he pointed to the Gospel and said, "This is the robber". Another time he sold the Gospel to give an alms and when a disciple said to him, "Father, where is your Gospel?" he replied, "Son, believe me, it was the Gospel which said to me 'Sell all you have and give to the poor', so I sold it and gave to the poor."

Another time a widow woman asked the same St. Serapion for alms because her children were hungry and as he had nothing whatever to give her, he obliged her to sell him as slave to some pagan actors, and thus he was able to help her." - (Taken from the life of St. John the Almsgiver, Patriarch of Alexandria +616/620AD)
Just give your Bibles away... that's what the Bible says! ;)

These have no reference to only the spirit guiding us? It states that God's scriptures have already been written upon us and to make us wise to recognizing ith through Jesus christ....this doesn't reflect on cardinal rules on how to read a bible by a normal man but that of Jesus Christ who set no such rules.

2Tim 3:15
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2Tim 3:16

All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Tim 3:17

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Like I said, you are missing the point entirely. And this is happening because you only want to argue. :sigh:
