  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just have problem to imagine a plane made of steel being able to fly at all, thats all! can the fuel of 1000 trucks get one truck to fly, 500 miles per hour, for four hours in air?

I know! And steel ships that float!

A lid bullet flys atleast 100 000 miles/hour, aluminium would lower the emount of energy to the fourth, carbonfibers to the 10th! how much energy do it takes to get a bullet fly away. Anyone?

You do realise that ballistics and aerodynamics are completely different things, right? Bullets don't "fly" the same way planes fly.

If you want a rough estimate, basic kinetic energy equation is

kinetic energy = 0.5*mass*velocity*velocity

EDIT: Table on the right of page has masses, velocities and energies for 9mm rounds.

You do realize that bullets don't receive constant additional energy - they receive one moment of propulsion. Planes receive constant propulsion during operation.

Well, i am not a space engineer even though i always thought planes had something to do with the prince of the power of the air ;)

Anyways. lets assume planes was made of air, how much energy does it take for the wind to blow the way it does?

Trucks don't fly, not at the speed of 10 miles per hour, not at the speed of 100 miles per hour, not at the speed of 1000 miles per hour. or do they? not even with wings it would or would they?

I'm hoping someone knows how it happens! I flew over here to Belgium earlier this week (in a jet, not a truck) and I have to fly home to the States on Sunday. If they don't know by now, I hope they figure out by Sunday!

Is that this guy?

I don't know about the "Air" part but he did have a band once called the New Power Generation.

Does he make planes fly?

I can believe it.

A truck would do more damage to the twin towers if driving 100 miles per hour. That wouldn't cause them to collapse, now would it?
These guys have advanced degrees in engineering. They devote their whole life and give their life for this. They tried to take down the tower with a truck & explosives but it did not work. I am not so sure they knew the whole tower would come down. It turned out to be a defective design.

Well, i gonna do an experiement with you: fold an plane out of aluminium foil similar to what you do with paper. Try it! thats how i came to think of all this, and started to believe that 9-11 was just an excuse to do war. war is never good.

Lillen, right now I think the best thing for you do with your tinfoil is make some kind of head-covering or hat out of it.

Lillen,

If you want to be taken seriously, I suggest you look at some of the links we've been posting. We are giving you the information, you are posting things like movie clips of "Speed". Just because you don't understand how a plane can fly doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Or keep trolling, if that's what is making you happy.

Has anyone tried my experiment. Now do it with dubble sheet paper? tripple! and see for yourself!

To what end? The propulsion is entirely different.

Here's an experiment for you: load a paper airplane into a gun and see what happens when you pull the trigger. It will be about the same comparison.
