First this might seem like a political debate, but I want to discuss the physics behind the collapse of the twin towers.

I believe that the terror attack was stage, i believe it was a demolition job, and i believe it was an excuse for war. War is never good. Thats about all political notions I have about the 9-11.

Let's look at the reality. No flamables in a aeroplane! Planes are made of paper not metal, and moreover the engines are driven by expandable gas, unflamable because the risk by flying through storms and heavy wheather.

A truck would do more damage to the twin towers if driving 100 miles per hour. That wouldn't cause them to collapse, now would it?

I cant imagine steel being able to fly in air. a cannon ball are hurled by more massive power then planes. I lid bullet fly atleast 90m second (some weak airguns) only 300 meters. Now we agree lid is heavier then steal, but if some physics would do the math, we see that planes are not made of steel, it is made of board!

well, do the calclations, a plane with the same mass as a truck, would need what kinds of fuels to get it moving in the air? thinking of a lid bullet that flys more then 500 m second from a gun? How much energy would it take? Jet fuel? not Hydreon at the amount of a 10000 gallons would give a truck enough energy to fly 50 miles, would it? And i think my imagination can estimate things. But then again, i need the caluclations, anyone willing to help me with it? How much energy would it take to cause a truck to fly at the speed of 500 miles per hour, for 50 miles?

Thinking of a lid bullet that flys at the speed of 180 000 miles/hour for maximum one mile using gunpowder!

I've not managed to google a calculation or do one yet, but I keep coming across a figure of 140 megawatts for a 747. So a transatlantic flight needs about 3 terajoules, if that initial figure is correct. A truck can manage 450 kilowatts - and it'd have to be a pretty big truck.

You didn't read my links and that's not a question.

Planes are generally made out of aluminum, titanium or carbon fiber, not steel (although some parts are steel). Should I take this as a sign that you are not interested in actual answers?

Unlikely - trucks aren't aerodynamic

A lid bullet flys atleast 100 000 miles/hour, aluminium would lower the emount of energy to the fourth, carbonfibers to the 10th! how much energy do it takes to get a bullet fly away. Anyone?
