• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus Himself said "for one is Your teacher, and that is the Christ."

It is for this reason that I humbly submit this to you:

If any man or woman wants to become wise, let him go to the Wise and ask.

Before you go to any pastor, teacher, brother or sister, first go and ask Jesus, and the Lord Himself can teach you.

You may ask Him about most anything; bible questions, questions about the Holy Spirit, life, marriage, children, or any concern that you may have.

One good thing to remember is humility, respect, and regard to His holiness.

Thank you all very much and may God bless you in Jesus' name.

Also, remeber Jesus said that we are to be childlike in our relationship with. So when we approach asking our Creator for something or asking a question, we should approach him like a small child that is approaching a father. Loving, feared, and happy.

Another good reason why you should study the Bible and not just read it. And why we shouldn't just rely on man's opinions.

As I shared in the member intros thread of this forum--I do my best prayer walking in the mountains or quiet back roads. I often hear God giving me counsel & direction during these walks & giving me encouragement. I go home feeling more at peace & quite refreshed.

From an e-mail today about Dwight Moody and his teaching methods:

1. Moody was a fully surrendered man, he held nothing back from the Lord (...they loved not their lives unto the death. -- Revelation 12:11).
2. He was a man of much prayer (Pray without ceasing. -- 1 Thes. 5:17).
3. He was a deep and practical student of the Bible (Study to shew thyself approved unto God... -- 2 Timothy 2:15).
4. He was a humble man (Be not wise in your own conceits... -- Romans 12:16).
5. He was not a lover of money (For the love of money is the root of all evil... -- 1 Timothy 6:10).
6. He had a consuming passion for the salvation of the lost (Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
-- Mark 16:15).
7. And he was endued with Power from on High (... until ye be endued with power from on high. -- Luke 24:49).

I feel the same. I walk daily, even if I can't make it to a designated walking area, I'll just walk around the neighboorhood.
