Well I have had it a few days now, ever since I got it about 4 days ago. I pre-orederd the Christmas pack and got it before anyone else. I have the Switchfootage 2 DVD which is hilarious :D! Even if you don't like the band, this rocks! It has the whole first season of podcasts as well, and a few music videos and making of features.

Now for the album. It has gotten mixed reviews, but as a die-hard fan, I'll tell you the truth: hands down their best album ever. An excellent mix of raw, yet nicely produced, rock songs as well as diverse and contemplative balads. The closing track, "Let Your love Be Strong" even beats Daisy as their best album closer to date. It remains very diverse, no track sounds alike. Form the alt-country rock of Dirty Second hands to the motown influences of Ametuer Lovers, it is a solid set that proves to be their best release yet. Lyrically diverse as well, entering new territor, like touching on the topic of death, as well as expanding on the general search for deeper meaning in life. I apprecaiate their sensitivity to different interpretations of death, "Yesterdays" isn't some "now I'm dead, I'll fly to heaven and play a harp" diddy. Instead it allows for open interpretaions whil instead leaning on the emotional weight of the subject. Overall, the best release of the year, barely beating a horde of good releases such as Jars of Clay's Good Mosnters or Fair's escellent release.

A full review of Oh! Gravity is coming soon, as well as my Best of '06 list.

Switchfoot is a far too overproduced band. They do not sounds a thing like what they do on CD. They do not even sound that great on CD. They are nice guys, talked to them for a few min after a show, but their are much better bands out there.

I wouldn't say they are too over-produced. Sure nothing is sound and NWTBH had their fine touches, but they have always allowed raw energy into their performances. In fact, the new album was often done in one take, and they also let in more mistakes. The sleak production exists, but this album is more of what the band really is. And yea, 24 is really good, but LYLBS I think is by far better. The lyrics are incredible, and the music has its grand parts, but suprises you by never really breaking out. Incredible! My fave. was NIS before this, I think it is excellent. Oh and I think Jon is one of the best voices out there!

I finally got a copy! It's awesome! More Switchfoot greatness! With the new look and everything I was worried the style of the music was gonna change as well, but I was happily wrong! *thumbs up* "American Dream" is awesome and "Let Your Love Be Strong" is so beautiful.

I'm going to their concert on Monday! I can't wait!

Ahh, why do you tempt me to do bad things to you? :)

No just kidding, I really wanted to see them, but I don't think we'll be here, we'll be in Texas... I guess I'll have to settle for creation 07

I don't get why everybody likes Faust, Midas, and Myself so much.

Cause it is epic, one of the best songs that has ever been released under Sparrow records, or Columbia for that matter.
