STRETCHING OUT

I look around the room, and wonder why I'm here.
It's the place that I call home, yet none of it feels near.
It's like looking from a distance, through a misty haze of mind,
as if you just revisited a memory in Time.

What causes this - this island of the heart ?
This hollow - like a vacuum in the mind ?
An emptiness in which you feel apart ?
A stranger to yourself - displaced in Time ?
You wander, and you wonder, and you doubt -
but it's the restless soul - just stretching out.

Inside , you try believing that this is your hometown.
You watch the stars appearing, one by one they bloom.
Somehow they seem nearer, than the closeness of your room.

THE VOID
