The infinite also stretches into the dimension of the infinitesimal for sure.
OK, here's the thing. If I'm talking to you,I'll say "the sun came up this morning", because from our perspective that's what happened. I don't say "this morning the earth revolved until the sun was visible above the horizon", even though in technical terms that's what happened. It really does not matter if you are not convinced by sources outside Scripture, as to this thread, but the Scriptures, themselves, do not lie
Well, to put it plainly, no., and the sun revolves and rotates and follows its own ordained paths in the heavens circling the earth, coming out of 6 different gates/portals ordained by God's electromagnetic forces, for the months and the seasons [that fact, can be scientifically observed].
Yeah, it does all of the above. Denying it because the Bible doesn't provide these details is simply silly. The earth does not spin, revolve, rotate or tilt
Really?OK, here's the thing. If I'm talking to you,I'll say "the sun came up this morning", because from our perspective that's what happened. I don't say "this morning the earth revolved until the sun was visible above the horizon", even though in technical terms that's what happened.
The Bible isn't a text on celestial mechanics. It's written from our perspective. So yeah, it says "the sun came up". And you can assume that it mean that the sun appeared above the horizon. Good enough, true enough.
The earth is not a planet in the Word of God. Planet means wandering star, and the earth does not wander in the Word of God.Image what would happen If God had to spin the entire universe around one infinitesimely small planet in one day:
Cosmic Soup.
The very idea defies the science even you refer to.
The earth is not a planet in the Word of God. Planet means wandering star, and the earth does not wander in the Word of God.
Now as to imagining, God did not leave it to our imagination, but stated exactly, from the beginning, that the heavens circled the earth before yet they were stretched out from it, when on day 2 He brought light into being, and the evening and the morning =darkness time and daylight time making one revolution around the earth- were named "one/echad Day"; then on day 2, He told us He stretched out the stories of the heavens between the divided in two waters of this globe's creation, and the half of the waters were raised above the stretched out heavens, in which stretched out heavens He set His created sun and moon, on day 4, and made the stars, also, and even named each star and calls them all by name.
Question: The Bible doesn't mention to topography of Sweden. Should I assume that because the Bible doesn't tell me about Sweden that Sweden doesn't exist? Should I assume it doesn't have a topography? Or does the Bible simply not say anything about it because it doesn't say anything about it? -CryptoLutheran
This calls from some Augustine to be honest;
I find this argument - posted here and defended by the original poster - to be the clincher in my understanding of how the first couple chapters of Genesis are seriously misunderstood by traditional thinkers. No question in my military mind.
The Portals of the Sun
2And this is the first law of the luminaries: the luminary the Sun has its rising in the eastern portals of the heaven, and its setting in the western portals of the heaven.
3And I saw six portals in which the sun rises, and six portals in which the sun sets: and the moon rises and sets in these portals, and the leaders of the stars and those whom they lead: six in the east and six in the west, and all following each other in accurately corresponding order: also many windows to the right and left of these portals.
4And first there goes forth the great luminary, named the Sun, and his circumference is like the circumference of the heaven, and he is quite filled with illuminating and heating fire. 5The chariot on which he ascends, the wind drives, and the sun goes down from the heaven and returns through the north in order to reach the east, and is so guided that he comes to that portal and shines in the face of the heaven. 6In this way he rises in the first month in the great portal, which is the fourth those six portals in the east. 7And in that fourth portal from which the sun rises in the first month are twelve window-openings, from which proceed a flame when they are opened in their season. 8When the sun rises in the heaven, he comes forth through that fourth portal thirty mornings in succession, and sets accurately in the fourth portal in the west of the heaven. 9And during this period the day becomes daily longer and the night nightly shorter to the thirtieth morning. 10On that day the day is longer than the night by a ninth part, and the day amounts exactly to ten parts and the night to eight parts. 11And the sun rises from that fourth portal, and sets in the fourth and returns to the fifth portal of the east thirty mornings, and rises from it and sets in the fifth portal. 12And then the day becomes longer by two parts and amounts to eleven parts, and the night becomes shorter and amounts to seven parts. 13And it returns to the east and enters into the sixth portal, and rises and sets in the sixth portal one-and-thirty mornings on account of its sign. 14On that day the day becomes longer than the night, and the day becomes double the night, and the day becomes twelve parts, and the night is shortened and becomes six parts. 15And the sun mounts up to make the day shorter and the night longer, and the sun returns to the east and enters into the sixth portal, and rises from it and sets thirty mornings. 16And when thirty mornings are accomplished, the day decreases by exactly one part, and becomes eleven parts, and the night seven. 17And the sun goes forth from that sixth portal in the west, and goes to the east and rises in the fifth portal for thirty mornings, and sets in the west again in the fifth western portal. 18On that day the day decreases by two parts, and amounts to ten parts and the night to eight parts. 19And the sun goes forth from that fifth portal and sets in the fifth portal of the west, and rises in the fourth portal for one-and-thirty mornings on account of its sign, and sets in the west. 20On that day the day is equalized with the night, and becomes of equal length, and the night amounts to nine parts and the day to nine parts. 21And the sun rises from that portal and sets in the west, and returns to the east and rises thirty mornings in the third portal and sets in the west in the third portal. 22And on that day the night becomes longer than the day, and night becomes longer than night, and day shorter than day till the thirtieth morning, and the night amounts exactly to ten parts and the day to eight parts. 23And the sun rises from that third portal and sets in the third portal in the west and returns to the east, and for thirty mornings rises in the second portal in the east, and in like manner sets in the second portal in the west of the heaven. 24And on that day the night amounts to eleven parts and the day to seven parts. 25And the sun rises on that day from that second portal and sets in the west in the second portal, and returns to the east into the first portal for one-and-thirty mornings, and sets in the first portal in the west of the heaven. 26And on that day the night becomes longer and amounts to the double of the day: and the night amounts exactly to twelve parts and the day to six. 27And the sun has therewith traversed the divisions of his orbit and turns again on those divisions of his orbit, and enters that portal thirty mornings and sets also in the west opposite to it. 28And on that night has the night decreased in length by a ninth part, and the night has become eleven parts and the day seven parts. 29And the sun has returned and entered into the second portal in the east, and returns on those his divisions of his orbit for thirty mornings, rising and setting. 30And on that day the night decreases in length, and the night amounts to ten parts and the day to eight. 31And on that day the sun rises from that portal, and sets in the west, and returns to the east, and rises in the third portal for one-and-thirty mornings, and sets in the west of the heaven. 32On that day the night decreases and amounts to nine parts, and the day to nine parts, and the night is equal to the day and the year is exactly as to its days three hundred and sixty-four. 33And the length of the day and of the night, and the shortness of the day and of the night arise- through the course of the sun these distinctions are made. 34So it comes that its course becomes daily longer, and its course nightly shorter. 35And this is the law and the course of the sun, and his return as often as he returns sixty times and rises, that is the great luminary which is named the sun, for ever and ever. 36And that which thus rises is the great luminary, and is so named according to its appearance, according as the Lord commanded. 37As he rises, so he sets and decreases not, and rests not, but runs day and night, and his light is sevenfold brighter than that of the moon; but as regards size they are both equal.
The Portals of the Moon
73 And after this law I saw another law dealing with the smaller luminary, which is named the Moon....
Keep in mind that it is God who gave the "Genesis Toledot" -the writing which God gave, and which record which Moses has copied down from the patriarch's own writings, as Moses also used the ancient writings of the Patriarchs to redact their histories for the Torah account.
The libraries and sciences in Egypt -after the many years of wise Joseph's rule over Egypt- were sec ond to none, and Moses was raised as a prince in Egypt who would have even been in line to the throne, as his adoptive mother, Bathia, was the firstborn of Pharaoh -and inbreeding of the line was causing many of the sons of the pharaoh's to be "idiots" during those times, as ancient records do show].
Moses was privy to all the science and wisdom of Egypt; plus, he was instructed in all the writings of the patriarchs through his Levite tribal line and had access to all the copies of them to use for the writing of Torah accounts, of their redacted histories. The DSS apocryphon proves that they all wrote their own "testimonies" -their stories of their lives and their dreams and visions and errors and graces, and so on and so forth...
Moses was the grandson of Levi through his mother Jochebed, who was born to Levi at "the gate of Egypt" and counted as one of the seventy who entered Egypt but not listed in the genealogies of those sixty nine entering cause she was yet in her mother's womb -as the ancient Jewish writings state and which is why the discrepancy of the numbers in Torah account; but they correlate when it is understood she was the seventieth but in the womb, so sixty nine are counted entering, but seventy entered -both are correct because of the fact of she being in the womb, and born "at the gates" of Egypt.
Moses did not sit down and write the Torah in a trance of mystic dreams nor did he write Torah based on "man's perspective" of the creation. He had God's "Genesis record/account/Toledot".
So God did not lie and Genesis is correct and the heaven's were stretched out from the globe of waters, between the waters which were divided in half, on day 2. The heaven's were not named "heaven's until they were stretched out, and the Creator named them "two waters" -because two waters of creation were made from the one when the heavens were stretched out between them.
Water were named the "mayim" by the Creator, and the Firmament/expanse stretched out were named "sha -Mayim" by the Creator, by adding the "shin" element to the "mayim". The shin was written by the sign of the two front teeth, used for "cutting", so the "shin" cut the waters in two, on day two of creation week. and the heavens were stretched out between the two waters, with half below the heavens and half above the creation, on day 2 of creation week.
Genesis shows us this:
the globe of waters the Creator made in the beginning completely encase the stretched out heavens, with the waters above and the waters below being energized with the powers/electromagnetic forces that uphold the heavens and the earth.
What the heck?!The background of those videos, with the hanging TV and the non-descript picture, leads me to believe that this man is filming from some sort of home for the mentally ill.
Noah lived 350 years after the flood.I guess the OP didn't get the memo---There was this thing called a flood:
Now--maybe he's under the impression that Noah brought the book into the ark and preserved it (Enoch must have gotten it to him before God took Him, as none of his family or possesions were saved)
