I believe the reason why a non-Christian may struggle is because there is an imbalance in the Nation in which they live between the 'good' and the 'bad.' When the imbalance is there, a person cannot see which is better for them to choose. When a Nation is 'righteous' then a person may cling to that righteousness since the righteousness will produce many prosperous results but when there is an overabundance of 'unrighteousness' a person cannot see the prosperous results and so will have a difficult time in saying if 1-it is good, or 2- if it is bad. When a Nation is balanced, per se, then those that desire prosperity will run to prosperity and those that desire 'unrighteousness' will run to 'unrighteousness.' But the opportunities for both will be there for any individual to choose from which will set a person's mind and soul at more peace in their pursuit of their own desire thus not causing too many struggles of emotions and thoughts.

I don't really understand what you are trying to say. People mature and naturally their thoughts mature as they experience life and more things. I think we all change in many ways as we learn more and understand more.

Can you try to explain it another way?

my explanation is kinda like this. People as individuals are prone to accept what the majority of 'society' is doing. If you grew up in the 60's, the person would probably accept the major 'rule' of the 60's. And if you grew up in the 70's then the person would probably accept the major 'rule' of the 70's. It is the same with the 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's as well. My thought is that individual 'persons' aren't the ones changing but the major 'rule' of society, by whomever it is made up of, is changing, and thus changing attitudes and beliefs of individuals, and so forth.

it's hard not to just go with the flow of the world, but everyone is called to follow Christ instead of conforming to the world, Romans 12:2.

That's a good response, Orange. It is not about what year we are born, or what other people are doing, but whether one receives Jesus Christ into their heart and is devoted to Him. He is our only salvation and hope and blessing, and way to our Creator-God (see John 14: 6 also verse 23). Knowing God and walking with Him is the path to blessings evermore.

However, God does not change.

The Bible does not change and the Word of God does not change.

Jesus tells us that those who are His Children will find that they are at emnimity with the world. God and the world do not go together. Never have, never will. But God has not changed ever. So those who follow God are in constant combat with the ways of the world, no matter what generation. It was like that back in the days of the apostles, it is like that now.

The struggles of life don't disappear when one follows Christ. The difference however is, Christ helps us to overcome those struggles. He walks with us during the struggles. When I was an atheist, logically I was okay, but emotionally, I felt a big struggle between what I should be doing, and the cultural narratives. Not sure if this is the struggle you are speaking of, or something else, but just thought I'd offer that. :)

You're absolutely right. Without Jesus Christ, we can do nothing John 15:5. If we're not following Him, then realize it or not, we're following a course chartered out by Satan Ephesians 2:2. It doesn't matter what decade or century, Satanic powers abound, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us! (Praise God)Philippians 4:13.
