The Six seals

Human History leading up to the marriage of the Lamb is sealed up with 7 seals. When Jesus rose from the dead He was found worthy to open this book and its seven seals.


1st Seal -- First horse is the gospel. The gospel has gone out conquering and to conquer. The arrow has already been shot. The one riding the gospel horse has a crown.


2nd Seal -- The second horse represents war. This horse takes peace from the earth that men would slay one another and a great sword was given to him. Tanks, airplanes, even atomic weapons have all been given to this horse. But this horse doesn’t conquer, rather it simply has power to take peace away. Many people will not repent and receive the gospel while they have peace.


3rd Seal -- The third horse is famine. Famine often follows war as the food production and food distribution is disturbed. Again, just like the prodigal son, often it is not until you are starving that you are willing to repent and receive the gospel.


4th seal -- The fourth horse -- collapse of human government. We saw this in Rwanda, kill with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence and by wild beasts. It is anarchy when we need to fear being killed by wild beasts or when gangs of thugs act like wild beasts with impunity. This really causes us to reassess what we did and repent for our sins in allowing this anarchy.


5th Seal -- not a horse, it is a revelation. Throughout human history people have been slain because they spoke the truth and their testimony was against the sins of the leaders. John the Baptist is an example of this. We know some of them, but many are locked away and killed without any account in the news or in history. Often they are falsely accused of crimes to disguise their true crime of exposing the sins of the leaders. Because of this unrighteousness many wonder how God could allow this to take place. Why does God allow Hitler? Why does He allow genocide? The end of the age will be a judgement on all human government. Yes there is sufficient evidence at present to condemn some but not all human government. The end of the age Jesus is Lord and His Kingdom descends to earth, but before that can happen the evidence of the failure of human government has to be complete.


6th seal is the coming of the great day of the Lord’s wrath.

I agree with you on the sixth seal. It is the day of the Lord's wrath.
I believe that seal 4, seal 5, and seal 6 have a close connection to each other. One seal sets in motion the actions to happen in the next seal, etc.

Besides seal 6, I see all the other seals (you mentioned) as meaning something different and they are all still yet to happen. Granted, while it seems like we are getting close to the 3rd seal now because it represents famine, the first two seals do not seem like they happened yet for me (Although that does not mean I could not have things wrong).

I believe the 4th seal could possibly be when the Antichrist enforces the mark of the beast and it will create the greatest loss of life in human history that will make the slaughter of the Jews by hitler look small by comparison. Christians and unbelievers will be killed by the Antichrist. Christians will be beheaded by the Antichrist.

"And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them [working through the Antichrist's kingdom] over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword [the Antichrist will kill you by the weapons of men if you do not take the mark], and with hunger [he will starve you, for you cannot buy or sell without the mark], and with death [he will kill you by other unconventional means of taking life], and with the beasts of the earth [he will take your life by his evil generals or demon possessed military men with trying to enforce the mark upon you, or in punishing for refusing to take it.]." Anyways, Christians are clearly described as being martyred in Revelation (Revelation 7:14).

The 5th seal are these martyred saints up in Heaven crying out for vengeance to God in Heaven. These were the saints who were just martyred recently by the Antichrist, and they are asking God to bring in justice for what the Antichrist did to them and His people.

God responds with the 6th seal bringing wrath upon the Antichrist and his regime and driving Israel all the more to go to the wall and repent that Jesus is their Messiah. For Isaiah 53 is said to be a forbidden chapter among some in Israel.

Side Note:

My words here on the End Times are merely a possibility of how things may play out. I could be wrong on the interpreting of the seals. I see them as merely possibilities. Let God and His Word be true (despite what I say). The most important thing as Christians that we need to focus on is to be ready spiritually for the return of our Lord. We need to dedicate our lives all the more each day unto the Lord in loving Him with all our mind, heart, soul, and strength.

I view it differently and it certainly is up for interpretation.

I feel the first four horses took off on a horse race pretty much at the same time, after the Lord's crucifixion and resurrection Jerusalem was destroyed and the race was on. So whereas James refers to the "dispersion" and Peter does to, here it is a horse race with believers going throughout the world to preach the gospel. War, famine and pestilence are also following but "all he could do the foe is just release the flow".

As for the fifth seal my concept on this has also drastically changed. I feel that throughout history from Abel, to the Hebrew babies in Egypt, to Jesus, and then to all the martyrs throughout history we have seen this. The unrighteousness of human government in doing this was not fully revealed until the Lord's crucifixion. So for the last 2,000 years we have seen one martyr after another and wondered "how long". No doubt when Christians were being fed to lions and crucified it was on display for all to see. The revelation of the unrighteousness is ongoing, just like when we saw what the cigarette companies did, or what the NFL did with CTE, or what Dupont did with Teflon, or how bogus was our reason for getting into the Vietnam war with a draft, etc. This revelation reveals how pervasive and complete is this corruption. So to my mind the first 5 seals are already in the process of being opened and fully revealed, but the sixth seal with the great earthquake has not happened yet.

In either case, we can agree on the most important thing. Jesus Christ. He is our Savior, our first love, and He is the light to this dark and dying world.

How beautiful is our gospel.
For the gospel is the power of God.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16).

"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." (2 Corinthians 4:4).

We are living in exciting times. More people are uncertain of their future now. Only God is their true source of protection and comfort. We are ever drawing closer to the return of our Lord.

I think it is leading to more people repenting and receiving the gospel. I think it shows how tenuous life and our civilization is.

I think these verses in Habbakuk chpt 1 are the real motivation behind the 5th seal and show that we have been seeing this for thousands of years.

1 The oracle that the prophet Habakkuk saw.

2 O Lord, how long shall I cry for help,

and you will not listen?

Or cry to you ‘Violence!’

and you will not save?

3 Why do you make me see wrongdoing

and look at trouble?

Destruction and violence are before me;

strife and contention arise.

4 So the law becomes slack

and justice never prevails.

The wicked surround the righteous—

therefore judgement comes forth perverted.

It is only exciting times in the context to the person who is excited to see their Lord is returning for them soon. It is only exciting times in context to the person who is excited to see Israel one day as a nation accept their Messiah as Jesus Christ. It is only exciting times in context to the person who is excited that more men are now open to accepting the Lord seeing their is no future in the traditional sense that they have known.

Jesus was made a curse for us.

One day see Israel as a nation? Paul taught that the church IS Israel. If we're still looking forward to the establishment of God's kingdom, we may have missed the entire point of his death and resurrection.

We are spiritual Israel, but we are not the physical nation of Israel. Paul appeared to treat Israel as a physical nation or people in Romans 9-11 who will in time accept their Messiah (Hence, why God has not cast them off entirely; It is why they are still beloved for the Father's sake).
