See post #99 just now.I didn't believe the phsycial serpent got into the people.
The evil spirit in the air is now, since then, operating in the sons of disobedience (Eph. 2:2)
I didn't say Satan was omnipresent.Having the sin nature still doesn't equate to having Satan enter into you all of the sudden, and at a sudden time, for that time though, to have you do or not do a certain thing temporarily though, etc.
Satan is not omnipresent, etc.
God Bless!
I can see that the man Adam is held by the NT in greater responsibility. The NT blames Adam for the fall.
Adam is the federal head of humanity - not Eve.
The first man fell - the 2nd Adam (man) saved us.
God made the Edenic covenant with Adam- not with Eve.
Humanity fell when Adam ate of the fruit and disobeyed the covenant he made with God - which was conditional on his obedience.
Thus the curses after God banished them from the Garden.
Surely, it was a downward slide.Well, it says that Eve did not even find the tree or it's fruit even desirable until the serpent tempted her, etc...?
Yes, Paul says he was not deceived. It is something to think about - this deliberate caving in to temptation.Don't know about Adam, but even if he did before that, he wasn't about to disobey God about it until after what had already happened with Eve, etc...
Yes. Another idea is that the devil convinced her that God told them not to eat because God was afraid they would become like Him.Aww that's a sweet view... actually I believe I heard a preacher on YouTube say the same thing once, just like one had said Eve just admired God the Father, and wanted to be more like him.
No.I can see that the man Adam is held by the NT in greater responsibility.
But you do not think God's commands and ordination was for Adam and his wife?
"Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth . . . " (Gen. 1:28) was said to "them."
"And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, . . . etc. etc."
I am not sure there is any disagreement really. Maybe a little.No.
God told THEM to be fruitful and multiply.
But God told only Adam to obey and not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
See
Genesis 2:15-17
15The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
16And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;
17but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
Eve was not even created yet.
See verse 18...
18The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
18The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

No record of anyone telling her but in her response to the serpent, she knew.
Genesis 3:3And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”
BIB were not God's words.but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
