  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No it wasn't part of a curse nor was there a curse at all. The supposed curse was just poetic language that conveyed Adam's life would be hard everyday until he died. Death wasn't a punishment, the hard life was and farming by yourself with a wife that would have two young children means a very hard life for a long time, and even with the son's eventual help that farming life is still extremely hard.
The curse is mentioned in Gen 3:18

If you say so. I disagree.

God says so when he expels them from the Garden: "Then the Lord God said, ‘See, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever’"
(Genesis 3:22, NRSV)

Imagine if Adam had eaten from it in his now mortal state. Living forever in a state of sin

Of course it doesn't...but then again you need evolutionism to work. This means once agin you gotta read it out of the bible.

This has nothing to do with evolution. You are simply misunderstanding the wording used. Besides you can't take a curse against one single person and make it a curse for all people anyways.

What about forgiveness?

Here is something about how Eve might have been saved:

1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
1Ti 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Next, Scripture itself shows that there always was physical death.
The idea that physical death was absent before the fall is both completely illogical as well as being unscriptural.

Still, that's how it reads.

12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world,
and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--

I don't feel that a spiritual death would spread to all men,
and that all other men creatures would be guilty, as scripture states.

It has to be a spiritual death because that is the type of death one experiences when they sin, the same death Christ came to save us from....and all Christians since the first one has died a physical death despite being saved from death by Christ.
