Which to buy? Well I played Sims 1 with 2 expansion packs for about 2 1/2 years. Then I bought Sims 2 and got tired of it after a month or two. I got so bored with it I haven't even wanted to go back to 1. Oh and my fav 2 expansion packs were Superstar and Unleashed. Do you have a particular question about a certain one?

I only really enjoyed the first Sims. After that, it just got tedious and became a sexual outlet for sexually denied children. You know full well that's what happened after Sims Hot Date and once it went online...oh my the bad things.

I used to think the sims was like the stupidest game in the world...till I played it, and it's quite addictive! I want to get the one for the DS so I can have sims on the road, but still have my good graphics

Now that would be cool.

I love the Sims :) I usually play the original sims (with the expansions) because my poor old computer can't handle Sims2 for more than a short time and at that loading extremely slow! When I finally get a new PC though, Sims 2 will be my game of choice for awhile!

I just recently bought The Sims, and I think that I've developed a mild addiction for it. I got the Double Deluxe Edition, which comes with Livin' Large and House Party, so I don't know what the other expansions are like. I'd like to try out Hot Date and Unleashed. The other expansions don't thrill me that much. I think that I'll probably wait and just get The Sims 2 eventually, but I'm not sure.

The Sims 2 sounds good. I don't know if it beats The Sims, but I'll just have to see.

I voted Sims Expansions. I have all the EPs for TS1. Combined, it makes for a totally awesome game. Individually, they all were lacking.

I have TS2 and TS2U. I see the potential for a great game...potential that hasn't materialized yet. I have a high end machine; in fact, I upgraded several components specifically for TS2. I'm sorry I wasted the money. I think TS2 will eventually blow away TS1, but not until they release a lot more custom content, integrate custom content creators with the game (to avoid the current conflicts with "hacks") and FIX THE BUGS BEFORE RELEASE DATES!

As it stands, I'm done spending my money on TS2 EPs until EA/Maxis figure out how to meet a deadline with a playable game. TS1 is limited in graphics, but has so much more gameplay to it (currently), TS2 could take over as "game of the century", but not as long as the releases are sub-standard games that require consumers to wait for patches. With TS2 it was the jump bug that brought play to a screeching halt. With TS2U it's the blank icons bug - it's still fairly new, so many people haven't been hit with the bug yet; trust me, it's there. Currently I'm debating uninstalling (again) and not reinstalling TS2/TS2U until a patch is released for University. My other choice is to uninstall and reinstall without any of my houses or families - start over from scratch each time the blank icon bug hits (doesn't that sound like fun?)

The Sims 2 > Sims 1 & Expansions.

I mean if you think about it, they just took the original and spruced it up. When it ain't broke, don't fix it. So give it a new graphics engine, add new features and interaction abilities and hey, another franchise that EA will milk with more expansion packs than I can count on my fingers ;)

I've never really liked the Sims. Last SimX game I played was SimCity (2nd or 3rd incarnation, don't really recall) or SimFarm. I have a large dislike for games like Sims... I don't know why... they just leave a wierd taste in my mouth, they seem like a waste of time really... I much prefer a more "strict" story-driven plotline and multiplayer "head-to-head" capability.

I haven't played the Sims 2, but I have watched other people play it. It looks cool, but I still prefer the first one. The expansion packs made the Sims better, but it became to much after like the seventh exspansion pack!
