Currently - The Family Guy

Historically - The Simpsons.

The Simpsons has really gone down hill in the last 6 years or so.

I voted for Family Guy because it makes me laugh more and makes me laugh harder. Although the Simpsons is a more quality show in terms of writing, characters, etc.
So if I had to vote for some award I think the Simpsons overall are better, but they don't make me laugh like Peter Griffin

Oh come on...... for the sheer fact that you cannot go a day without hearing a Simpsons reference gives them the edge... it's like asking who's better Shakespeare or... I don't know.... Morris Panych (that's for the Canadians in the crowd).... there's no comparrison (as cool as "7 stories" and "the Overcoat" were... they can never compare to "Lear" or "Romeo").

Okay, that didn't make sense to everyone... It's like saying what's better? The Holy trilogy (Star Wars, Empire and Jedi) or the new garbage (phantom and clones).... okay that's a bad example because the new movies stink.

It's like asking which is better? Butter or margarine?... no matter what you think of margarine, it will always be compared to butter.

oh, nevermind. The simpsons are way better than the Family Guy

My problem exactly! Simpsons has been on the up for me, now that there are new episodes on terrestrial TV. But I've only just been introduced to Family Guy, so they're still fresh and funny. And Quagmire makes me laugh. A lot.

Early Simpsons were amazing but it just got stale, they shouldda been cancelled instead of Futurama.

BTW - I've noticed something rather strange lately in Britain. Have you noticed that in the same way that Santa Claus has been edging Jesus out of the picture for years in terms of the secular worlds view of Christmas, Santa is now himself being usurped by Homer Simpson in a Santa Suit. We've got one as part of our Christmas decor this year. he sings and dances and is driving me nuts.

I think they are both great, but if I had to chose one then Simpsons cause there are no more new Family Guy episodes.
