CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

From the beginning, the conflict has been between worshiping man or God. Satan elevated himself to challenge God, and he wanted mankind to do the same. If Satan can cause man to elevate himself to the level of God, mankind has committed the same sin as Satan. The number 6 is the number of man, because mankind was created on the sixth day. Therefore, taking the number of 666 is a proclamation of rejecting God and worshiping man who is a puppet of Satan. The rejection of God is the key. The number 6 does not have magical power, because it is just a number, but it does represent incompleteness. Therefore, the year 666AD or some time or object that happens to contain the number 666 is meaningless, unless it is intentionally used to indicate a rejection of God as in the occult.

Coincidences are things that can lead to superstitions. Friday the 13th was a bad day for the Knights Templers, so people assumed it was bad luck. Like every other day, bad things happen on Friday the 13th, so people reinforce the superstition. Walking under a ladder is also bad luck, but it was originally because somebody working on the ladder might drop something on your head. There is no magic, just human superstition expanded from actual events. If you see signs of Satan everywhere, are you giving power to Satan or God?

It is true that one has to be aware of dangers and threats, but things have to be kept in balance. Let us say you have an enemy at work. They do what they can to make your life at work difficult. However, if you think about it too much, you will not be able to focus on the work at hand. You will make mistakes, and those might be attributed to your enemy when they were not your enemy’s doing. The worst part is that you will take your anxiety home with you and not relax and treat your family and friends properly. Your enemy will live in your head rent free and cause damage to you with no effort. Focusing on the works of Satan in this world will do the same thing, and he will get credit for evil he had nothing to do with. You will see enemies where there are none, and the fear will lead away from faith in God. Satan would like nothing better than for us to fight meaningless battles while he wages real war.
