In base 6 (base 10):
A=1 (1)
P=24 (16)
P=24 (16)
L=20 (12)
E=5 (5)
S=31 (19)
K=15 (11)
Y=41 (25)
Assuming a space =36, the total is 197.

What am I doing wrong? I think you are using a nomenclature I don’t know.

My mistake. The sum in base 6 without the 6x6 in base 10 is 253.

36 in base 10 = 100 in base 6. Therefore, the sum in base 6 would be 353. I'm getting old.

Your user name can still be anything you want. The calculation by @pgp_protector didn’t look right to me, but I hadn’t done math in anything but base 10 for many years. So I just recalculated the value of “applesky” in base 6 for fun, even though I got it wrong first try. The point was that you can find the number 666 in most things if you try hard enough.

I don't know why. Revelation mentions the number 666. 1666 is a thousand greater than 666, so what's the problem?

Yes, but two things about that. First, nowhere in the bible are we told never to use the number 666. It is not war against God to legitimately use that number. Indeed, these Christian Forums don't jump from 665 to 667 in numbering posts on threads. Second, as I mentioned befor,e 1666 is a different number entirely (a whole thousand greater) than 666.

The makers of this video have a problem understanding evil. Like all little boys, I was afraid of monsters and ghosts. When I got a little older, my father talked to me about murderers, rapists, kidnappers, thieves, drug dealers, and all of the things that went on in our city. The best description I could find for Rob Skiba is as a sophist. He is a bit like Zecharia Sitchin. As long as you don’t examine the details of his teachings, they sound okay. That is why sophists refuse to be challenged by actual scientific or linguistic analysis. Whether or not they believe what they are saying is a question that is difficult to answer, but the fact that real challenges are ignored is telling. They also play on the fact that people tend to believe things that are emotional and entertaining. Skiba also played on the general population’s distrust for those of authority. Questioning people like Skiba is seen as unwavering acceptance of authority figures even when that is far from the case. They impose a false dichotomy, as we have seen many times in this thread.

I said your statement was rubbish because it was.

666 is not, in itself, war against God.
People whose name adds up to 666 are not enemies of God.
666 BC and 666 AD were not Satanic years.
People in London might have thought the end of the world was coming in 1666; it didn't.
Psalm 66:6 tells of people praising God for the things he has done.

People who are into conspiracy theories see 666 everywhere and make it mean something that it doesn't.
