First flight around the world. Yes, they flew AROUND the spherical world.


Around the world in 175 days! Total flight time was 371 hours and 11 minutes, covering 27,550 miles.

You are missing the point. I have a relative that is very proud of his skepticism. If you tell him something he doesn’t know or understand, his response is always “I doubt it” or “that’s not true.” If I tell him that you can use brake cleaner to open the ports on a carburetor, he will say “that is not true.” However, he won’t look it up or try it out, but he feels superior because he thinks that proved I was wrong. It makes him feel smart. If you refer to a large amount of information as lies and deception without thinking or investigating, you feel wise in your pride. In addition, you see nothing but evil around you with you being the only righteous one. It is not looking for truth but boosting one’s pride. The Bible is true and Copernicus is correct, so the rational course of action is to see how the two things can be rectified. You don’t disregard one simply because it is easier. You think, “What am I missing here?” It is humility.

So they are right in saying that the earth moves and the earth orbits the sun ?
So they are right in saying the light of the moon is reflected offa the sun ?
So they are right in saying there is no firmament ?
So they are right in saying the sun does not circuit the sky ?
So they are right in saying that gravity keeps water on a ball & does not find it's own level ?
So they are right in saying Antarctica is a continent ?

I just followed the verse up with 'for ever'.

Yes, so the earth will not be moved until God destroys the earth at the end of time. But being moved isn't the same as moving. If I walk somewhere, I am moving. If somebody else carries me, I am being moved. So I repeat, the fact that the bible says that the earth will not be moved, does not mean that it is motionless, just as David wasn't motionless when I wrote in the psalm, "I shall not be moved."
