Yeah, I just really hope that it will be since I am a HUGE fan of the original. Also love this song as it's really pretty.

The 1993 version? Cause I found out that there was (in my own personal opinion) a dumb version of that movie that wasn't so good and I accidentally got it sometime. I forgot what time period that was though.

I watched the original with Margaret O' Brian and when the remake came out a while back, thought it wouldn't be as good.
I have to say it was a beautiful movie, I think I enjoyed it even more.
They stuck close to the book and original which often isn't the case.
The little girl in it was Kate Maberley I really enjoyed it.
Looks like there's another remake now.

I often think that with all the effects at hand, there could be some beautiful movies now made, I thought of the Faraway Tree books would make gorgeous childrens/family movies.

It also seems as if there are no original thoughts much as so many movies are remakes.

It looks like a very good version of it. I've familiar with the story. I watched the 1993 version which was filmed at Allerton Castle, just a few miles from Harrogate where I lived for a number of years

The only remake of a film that I considered far better than the previous version was The Last of the Mohicans. But in that case the previous version was early black and white, perhaps early enough that it woiuld ahve been called a talkie (as opposed to silent) when it was first released. I have seen tons of remakes that fall far short of the earlier films.
