  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You know what flies in the face of the above ditrabe?

What my family and many others lived through because of Obama Care. IOW reality.
Then complain to the Heritage Foundation, they came up with the idea. Oh, and the GOP, they championed it...well, until President Obama decided to implement it.

Well reality is about to hit the fan for Chuck Schumer as millions will not be able to get their food stamp money in just a few days. I think the backlash is going to be historic and those people he claims to be fighting for will continue to turn on the party.

Head start programs end Nov 1 also.

Democrat-Supporting Federal Workers Union Calls For End To Shutdown

Senate Democrats were dealt a severe blow on Monday morning when the country’s largest federal workers union called for a swift end to the government shutdown.

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), a union representing more than 800,000 government workers, released an open letter calling on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his caucus to vote for a House-passed bipartisan spending bill to reopen the government. Schumer and a majority of Democrats have voted against a clean funding measure to reopen the government a dozen times — and will vote on a spending bill to end the shutdown for a 13th time as soon as Tuesday.

In a heated call, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene chastises Republicans over their shutdown strategy

On Tuesday, Greene accused her party of letting the country down, according to a Republican source who was on the conference call. Greene later confirmed the comments herself, even adding more detail, in the latest sign of a rift between her and her party.

Greene has long been one of President Donald Trump's most vocal backers, but in recent weeks, she's bucked her party on a number of high-profile issues, including the administration’s strikes on Iran, the conflict in Gaza and its handling of files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Not long after Tuesday's call ended, the Georgia Republican began posting on X and confirming reports that she had reamed out her party leadership and expressed frustration with the White House's political team.

"I said I have no respect for the House not being in session passing our bills and the President’s executive orders. And I demanded to know from Speaker Johnson what the Republican plan for healthcare is," she wrote.

Greene also argued that Republicans' shutdown strategy has angered the American people and hurt Trump’s popularity, according to the source on the call.

Representative Greene is incorrect.
Of course. No Republican is to blame for the dysfunction of Congress even though both houses are currently run by republicans and we have a republican president who hails himself as a great deal maker who can get things done.

The only problem is the American people don’t believe this and are blaming the party in charge of our federal government and that’s what MTG is trying to get across but anyone daring to speak against the GOP narrative that this is solely and entirely the fault of the democrats must obviously be incorrect.

House Speaker: Schumer 'Terrified' of Political Winds

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told reporters at the Capitol on Tuesday that Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer D-N.Y., is "terrified" about his political future.

That's why, Johnson claimed, Schumer is continuing to vote against a funding measure to reopen the federal government.

Johnson told reporters at the briefing that it wasn't long ago when Schumer voted in March to support similar stopgap funding and said the potential consequences of a shutdown were worse than the short-term budget option.

Here are the Democrats again blocking a bill that would pay air traffic controllers.
