  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Even the GOP House Republican from the FOXnews blurb acknowledges the BBB will shutter rural hospitals.
It's amazing to me they now realize what they have been long warned about.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Protects Rural Hospitals

Rural hospitals have faced ongoing issues for many years, including low patient volumes, inadequate workforces, crumbling infrastructure, outdated technology and changing reimbursement trends. The fiscal vulnerabilities they face are multifaceted and often unique to each facility. The $50 billion rural hospital fund is intended to provide immediate relief to rural hospitals while allowing facilities to establish the tools necessary to be successful in the long term.

“This legislation makes the largest investment in decades in rural health care, ensuring states have the resources they need to address the unique challenges facing their rural hospitals,
said Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho). “This is an efficient way to ensure the sustainability of our rural health care facilities while protecting taxpayer dollars from waste, fraud and abuse.”

This funding is currently being blocked by the Schumer power grab.

It was scheduled - why didn't they wait?

Answer - it is a 1.5 trillion dollar power grab because legislatively they cannot win. Forget the Democratic process - forget the longstanding rules - just give them what they want.

Your picture is incorrect - It isn't Lucy holding a ball - it's Chuck holding a bag

There is nothing "scheduled" as far as I know. Source that claim.

The $50 B is a "fix" to cure the damage caused by cuts to medicare and medicaid. Did you not read about that during the debate and passage for that bill? If not, you should find more news sources to supplement your reading.

I was just thinking the same about you.

My suggestion is to glean information from both sides. It is amazing what you can learn.

What do you think most of that $1.5 Trillion quoted about the Dems version of the CR is?

Answer: Undoing the Medicare and Medicaid cuts.

The democrats want to undo the overspending repairs and continue providing for illegal aliens and people who would rather do drugs than work etc, to the tune of $1.5 Trillion.

Marco Rubio lays it out in one minute:

it is reversing legislation that passed both house and the President signed into law. They can’t get it done legislatively, so they are holding the country hostage trying to force their way.

Marco Rubio lays it out in one minute:

Should Congress make decisions based on Rubio’s anecdotes or reality? Democrats want to ensure that Americans can still afford their insurance, what alternative have Republicans offered?

They want benefits for illegal aliens, and subsides or free healthcare and benefits for people who don't want to work or can't because they indulge in substance abuse.

They want benefits for illegal aliens,
The same illegal aliens that are being deported at record numbers? Wouldn’t it make it easier to have them all on some government list?

and subsides or free healthcare and benefits for people who don't want to work or can't because they indulge in substance abuse.
Healthcare should be free of cost for everyone. People with substance abuse need rehab, not denial of medical care.

Is this really all the GOP is carrying on this shutdown over? Healthcare for people who need it?

Shameful.
