  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I think it is a really good movie. Rushmore was better, by a good amount, but I seriously think Rushmore is one of the best films I have ever seen.

Tenenbaums is all about character development, and I think Wes Anderson did a great job. The look of the film is really cool as well as the music, and the direction is pretty good. But the three things I listed there are staples for Anderson--especially the iconic music.

Overall, it is really not a film for everyone. I know some people who hated it, but they are usually people who like action without a solid storyline, self-admittedly.

I am def looking forward to Wes Anderson's next film, the soon to be released The Life, Aquatic starring Bill Murray. If it is anything like the dark comedies that his other films have been, it's already got lots of promise. I am also a pretty big Bill Murray fan, even though I think Lost in Translation was way too hyped up.

Wes Anderson makes films you either love or hate. Possibly hate because you're too young to "get it". I saw Rushmore when it first came out and I can't say I was thrilled with it, watched it last summer and it was great. I think I needed sometime to grow abit. Royal is great also, you can't go wrong in the music department either when you have some Beatles in there. Ben Stillers character gets me everytime I see it, very funny but very sad at the same time. The first shot where you see him about to set off the alarm is funny then sad. Great movie. And yes Bill Murray is GODs right hand man of comedy. I think that was in good taste. ;)
